He's Cheating? Richie x Reader

You were retrieving your books from your locker alongside your best friend, Beverly Marsh. You guys were goofing around as per usual, that is until Beverly peers over your shoulder at something behind you.

"Hey Trash Mouth, Me and your girlfriend were just discussing how much of a cute couple you and Eddie would be! "

"Hey." He says, not even bothering to play along with Beverly's teasing.

You turned around to face your boyfriend. He puts his arm around your shoulders and you plant a kiss on his cheek.

"Hey Hot Stuff, are you free tonight?" you ask as your lips curve into a smile.

As of lately, Richie seems to always have something else on his mind. When you look up at his big brown eyes, you can tell that something is... off.

"Hellooo! Earth to Tozier!" You snap your fingers in front of his face.

"Huh, what?" He responds completely dazed.

"I said if you're free tonight" you repeat.

"Uh..sure whatever you want."

"Really! Do you want t-" you gush until he cuts you off

"I'm sorry babe I got to get to class!" He mutters while giving you a kiss and you watch him walk away.

"What was that about?" Beverly asks

You give her a long sigh "I don't know Bevy, He's been acting weird lately..."

"What do you mean weird?"she inquired as you both began walking towards your next class.

"Like he's strangely never available, kinda standoffish... like he's hiding something and the worst part is...he doesn't even bother to make jokes anymore" you say sadly.

This was the first time you were saying this out loud. The thought appeared in your head.

"Do-Do you think he's messing around with another girl?" You ask worriedly.

"Hold the phone!" She says stepping in front of you.

"Nah! Trash mouth? Cheating on my bestie?! Nuh -uh not on my watch!" She exclaims.

"I don't know Bev, it might just be all in my head..."

She firmly places her hands on your shoulders and looks into your eyes.

"I got two words for you Y/N. Woman's intuition."

"Huh? What are you even talking about Bev?" You'd ask her absolutely puzzled.

"It's that gut feeling that something ain't right"  she says motioning to her stomach.
"ALL women have it and it has NEVER been wrong."

"That's why you have to ask him today on your date. If he's cheating on you, make sure to inform him that I'll be kicking his ass!" She declares balling her hand into a fist.

"Let's not get too hasty now!" You try to laugh it off, but something about what she said resonated with you.
