Danielle sighed as she walked out of English and looked at her phone. She was waiting on a text from Ricky. She had text him during English, asking where he was because she didn't see him this morning, but she got no response. It was weird because they talked every morning, and Ricky never left Danielle hanging when she sent him a text. He usually always walked her to class. There were no messages from him. Danielle pressed her lips tightly together as she stopped to send Ricky another text. "Hi!" Danielle nearly dropped her phone and books as Grace appeared in front of her. Luckily, she didn't drop anything. Danielle gave the blonde an annoyed look. Grace smiled brightly. "Hi, Grace" Danielle said and Grace tilted her head, "Have you given any thought on joining the squad" Grace asked and Danielle sighed as she picked at the top of her notebook. "Can't someone else fill in for what's-her-name" Danielle asked and Grace shook her head, "There's no one else" Grace answered and Danielle tilted her head. There were plenty of other people. Danielle just didn't understand why Grace thought it should be her. Danielle wasn't that perky. "Please..." Grace pouted her lips and Danielle sighed before turning her head. Danielle saw something over Grace's shoulder. "I'll think about it." Danielle brushed by Grace's shoulder and walked towards her target. Well, speed walked.

"Ricky!" Right sighed and closed his eyes when he heard Danielle's voice before stopping. He saw her talking to Grace when he passed by. He was hoping the blonde would keep blabbering about whatever long enough for him to get out of the hall. He didn't want to face Danielle. He knew that Jason told her he saw Ricky at his dad's office, and he didn't want to see how differently she looked at him now. "Hey, where have you been" Danielle asked as she stepped in front of him, surprising Ricky by the look in her eyes. She was still looking at him the same way she did before. He just couldn't believe it. He continued to stare at her. "Ricky" Danielle asked and Ricky raised his eyebrows, "Are you okay" she asked and he nodded at her with a small smile. "Of course I'm okay." As long as she kept looking at him like that, he was fine. Danielle raised her eyebrows at him. "Have you been avoiding me" Danielle asked and Ricky opened his mouth as he put his hands in his pockets. He shut it again before tilting his head. Danielle gasped. "You have you ass" Danielle accused as she shoved his chest roughly and Ricky flinched a little. Ouch. Danielle may be a girl, but she could throw a good ass punch. "Why have you been avoiding me" Danielle asked and Ricky shook his head, "It doesn't matter. I'm sorry for trying to avoid you" Ricky told her and Danielle nodded her head. "You better be" Danielle responded and Ricky smirked at her. Danielle smiled at him. "So, what did Grace want with you" Ricky asked and Danielle pressed her lips tightly together as the two of them started to walk down the hallway, "I don't know" Danielle told him and Ricky raised his eyebrows in disbelief.

Danielle rolled her eyes as Ricky laughed about Grace asking Danielle to join the squad. Adrian didn't seem all that surprised by it. "Why is that so funny to you" Danielle asked and Ricky shook his head making Danielle raise her eyebrows. Danielle couldn't lie though. She kind of thought it was funny too. She promised to think about it though. She was still leaning towards no. Danielle had no idea why Grace asked her. There were millions of girls in this school that would love to be a part of the squad, even if it is only for a month. Grace didn't need Danielle. "So, are you gonna do it" Ricky asked and Danielle stared at him in disbelief, "Do I look like a cheerleader" Danielle asked and he shrugged with a smirk. "If you're asking me if you're hot, the answer is yes" Ricky told her and Danielle scoffed before nudging him with her elbow. Adrian shut her locker before looking at them. "I think you should do it" Adrian stated and Danielle raised her eyebrows at the Latina. "You're flexible, hot, and you have great rhythm" Adrian told her and Danielle rolled her eyes as Ricky nodded his head in agreement. He leaned his arm against the locker behind Danielle "Just give it a shot. You might be into it" Adrian told her and Danielle raised a brow, "Besides, isn't that what football player's girlfriends are supposed to do" Ricky asked. Danielle swore that she heard bitterness in his voice. Danielle tensed a little. That reminded her. Danielle glanced to Jason down the hallway. "I have to go take care of something. I'll see you guys later." They nodded at her and Danielle smiled before quickly walking over to Jason. He smiled widely when he saw her. Danielle was about to wipe that off his face, and she felt so bad for it.

Ricky smirked as he stood at the side of the football field and watched Danielle tryout. He had seen the girls practicing before, but Danielle was definitely his favorite cheerleader. Adrian was right. She was flexible. Danielle had everyone watching her. He smirked again as Danielle did one more flip before landing right into a split. Ricky, along with everyone else outside, clapped. He wolf whistled making Danielle smile at him as she looked over her shoulder. She stood up before walking over to him. He raised his eyebrows at her. "They're talking about me" Danielle told him as she placed her hands on the bar and Ricky glanced to the group of girls gathered around Grace. Most of them were staring right back at Ricky. Grace was smiling as she glanced to Danielle before turning back to them. Ricky nodded his head at the girls and they turned around quickly. He chuckled before shaking his head and looking back at Danielle. She looked good. Really good. She was wearing a dark blue tank top that showed just perfect amount of cleavage, and a pair of black spandex shorts. The shorts showed off her toned legs perfectly. Danielle raised her eyebrows at Ricky as he smiled at her. "What" she asked innocently and Ricky smirked, "Just admiring your tanned skin" Ricky stated and Danielle rolled her eyes before slapping his arm gently as Adrian walked up. "Ooh. Look at you. If I wasn't straight..." Adrian whistled and Ricky smirked as Danielle rolled her eyes. Ricky glanced out to the football field as Adrian continued talking about how hot Danielle looked. He saw Jason glaring over their way, looking straight at Ricky. "I think your boyfriend's jealous" Ricky told Danielle as he waved to Jason sarcastically and Danielle raised her eyebrows, "Boyfriend" she asked as Jason turned away quickly and Ricky nodded. "Jason." "He's not my boyfriend" Danielle told them and Ricky raised a brow as she kicked her foot against the ground. Ricky smirked. "Good. He's a douche anyway" Ricky told her and Danielle laughed a little. "Guess what!!" The three friends jumped before looking at Grace. How the hell did she do that? For someone so loud, she sure was sneaky. "Do you enjoy scaring people" Danielle questioned as she turned to face the blonde but Grace ignored her. "You're on the squad!" Ricky shared a look with Adrian as Grace hugged Danielle tightly. This was going to be amusing.

"You don't seem too happy about being a cheerleader..." Danielle raised her eyebrows at Adrian while she sat in her kitchen and ate some ice cream. Danielle wasn't really happy about it. She was hoping that the girls would hate her enough to vote no. No such luck. Danielle shrugged at her friend. "Why? You're great at it" Adrian stated and Danielle gave her a look of disbelief as Cindy, Adrian's mom, came out of her bedroom. "Hi, girls" Cindy said as she walked over to get some coffee in her travel mug. "Hi, mom." Danielle only waved since her mouth was full of ice cream. "Danielle, I talked to your mom and she said that you can stay here while I'm gone if you want" Cindy stated as she turned, putting the lid on her mug. Danielle nodded with a smile. "Mom, guess what" Adrian said and Cindy raised her eyebrows at Adrian, "Danielle made the cheer-leading squad" Adrian stated and Cindy looked at Danielle in surprise. There was a hint of pride on her face. "That's great. The face that you were in gymnastics all those years will really help." Adrian nodded in agreement as Danielle smiled tightly. Cindy looked at her clock. "I gotta go. I love you girls." Cindy kissed the top of Adrian's head before walking towards the door. "Fly safe" Danielle and Adrian said at the same time and Cindy gave them a smile before shutting the door.

Danielle sighed as she walked into Adrian's living room after getting out of the shower and sat at the table with Adrian. Adrian was doing her homework. Danielle pulled her books out before starting to do the same. About ten minutes after Danielle started her homework, she felt Adrian staring at her. Danielle raised her eyebrows as she looked up. "What" Danielle asked and Adrian shook her head, "Nothing" Adrian whispered as she turned back to her notebook. Danielle narrowed her eyes. "Adrian" she said in a stern voice and Adrian sighed before looking back up at her. "Why did you only go on one date with Jason" Adrian asked and Danielle shrugged, "I didn't want to go on another" Danielle answered and Adrian raised a brow. Danielle wasn't exactly sure why she didn't want to keep going out with Jason. Maybe it was because of what she felt when he kissed her. Nothing. She felt nothing. Danielle may be having high expectations, but she thought you were supposed to feel something when someone kissed you. She wanted to feel something when she was kissed. "Are you sure that It had nothing to with Ricky?" Danielle bit the inside of her lip as she stared at Adrian. She couldn't say no because then she would be lying.
