Walking into school the next day, something still felt off. I could feel eyes boring into the back of my head, and I just knew that someone was following me. It made me slightly uncomfortable, those penetrating eyes, but I was used to the staring.

I walked into the locker room and breathed a sigh of relief. I really disliked the heat, and so a spce with cold air conditioning was a relief. As I walked over to my locker to put away my things and collect what I needed for the first class, I turned to greet my girlfriend, my best friend, and my best friends girlfriend whom all had lockers next to each other.

"Hey!" I greeted Emily, turning to put my stuff down and hug her "How was your weekend?"
"Not bad," Emily shrugged, and I noticed that she had had a haircut "Ashby shot Pappy's water pipes again."
"Nice haircut," I complimented "It suits you."

I rolled my eyes with a huff of laughter, bumping my hip against hers as she smiled wide and, turning to look at Will, my bestie, who had spoken up. After all, this wasn't the first rime Emily's sister had accidentally shot the pipes. For someone looking into joining the armed forces, she had crap aim.

"I worked," sighed Will, his arm wrapped around his much shorter significant other, Jamie
"You were also hungover," Jamie murmured from under his arm

I laughed and poked Will's side, telling him he shouldn't be drinking so much when he was only sixteen. He wouldn't heed my warnings, and as a group we made our way across the room to sit on one of the cramped couches. This one was bright pink, old, and our absolute favorite. As we sat I bit my lip, trying to recal some of the Greek that the four of us had randomly learnt.

"Ego eimai proséchei," I spoke
I am being followed
"Apó poion?" Emily asked, concerned
By who

I looked down and bit my lip, but could feel my friends eyes watching my every move. I rubbed my arm, unsure, and Emily gripped my hand in an effort to comfort me.

"Eínai asafés," I shrugged
It is unclear
"Aplá na eísai asfalís óloi sas."
Just stay safe, all of you

I looked around at all my friends, watching as they each nodded. I almost jumped when Will's expression changed from concern to annoyance, making the two others laugh.

"Mr Ward isn't here today," Will informed us "I hope we don't end up with tech Reynolds again."

And just like that the bell went and we had to disperse. Emily headed off to French class, Jamie to math and Will and I science... with our substitute teacher. As we walked from the locker room to the science room we conversed, and he made fun of my bright pink, 80's girlband-esque gloves.

"We're in spring, it's hot, why even wear them?" He asked, poking at them disdainfully
"Because I can," I shrugged with a grin

As we reached the science room and moved to sit down, one of the boys behind be yanked on the back of my chair, pulling it out from underneath me and causing me to fall. Laughter sprang up around the class, even from Charlie (whom I narrowed my eyes at). I just rolled my eyes and fixed the chair, whilst Will glared at the table. I sat down and pulled out one of my notebooks, writing in it until the teacher showed up.

"Asshole," I murmured under my breath, just Loud enough for will to hear as he chuckled at me

When the teacher finally did show up the class gave him hell. From calling him a monster (once realising who he was) to being their normal nuisance inducincing selves. I gave up about halfway through the class, when I could see the veins in Dr. Banner's head slowly start to turn green and he looked about ready to step out.

"Why don't you just leave him the fuck alone!" I exclaimed, glaring at everyone but Will "The poor bugger has to deal with little shits like you and you can't even be halfway decent towards him! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Wrong with us?" Chortled an especially annoying guy from the back row as he reclined in his seat "What's wrong with you? Why are you standing up for that freak?"
"Why don't you just leave him the fuck alone, Sean. This man has done more good in his lifetime then you ever will. Who cares if, when he's mad, he grows big and green and angry! He has helped people! From the news reports he is a fairly decent guy! Unlike you little fucks who won't get any where in life with behavior like that!" I screamed

I hadn't noticed but I had moved to standing on the table. My fists were clenched and I was glaring so hard it was giving me a headache. From the corner of my eye I saw the green get worse on Doctor Banner's skin, and I slowly tried to calm myself down. He probably didn't need a screaming match in his classroom.

"What, are you a freak too?" Sean asked with a smirk and a glint in his eyes

I didn't even care anymore. I didn't care that no one was supposed to know. I didn't care that I was different (I never had before then, either). I just gave up caring. In his hand he held a wooden pencil, and I huffed a laugh as I made to sit down on the table I was standing on, my legs dangling over the side.

"Well, when you put it that way, yes, I suppose I am," I smiled

Holding my hand out towards his pencil it vibrated before turning into a small flute and it started playing Weightless by Marconi Union. I hummed along in tune to it, turning around to direct the music at Doctor Banner who did indeed look to be calming down.

"Creation and animation," I hummed lightly before anyone could ask

By the time the bell had gone there was no green left to see and I had officially creeped out my entire class. Everyone but Will, that is, who could do something incredibly similar. I waited until everyone had left before packing my own stuff up and stopping the flute. I was almost out the door when my curly haired substitute teacher called out to me.

"Thank you," he thanked with a soft smile
"You're always welcome," I smiled back "Don't tell the others, but you're one of my favorite Avengers."

With that I walked away down the halls to make it to the locker room for recess. After that I had two new classes. Art, and Media.
