I shooed my friends all off, much to their chagrin, and lurched myself to my feet. I put my hand against the wall to steady myself, taking deep breaths as my vision blurred, gray and fuzzy from the sudden movement. There were still SES officials checking the place out, but besides that everyone else had gone. The paramedics had wheeled away an unconcious Declan, the police had escorted out the teacher and the bitch, and so the only people left was myself, the Avengers, and a worried looking Annalise who refused to leave my side.
"Sit back down," she demanded "I refuse to let you go to class like this."
"I refuse to not be in class," I grumbled back at her "Which is exactly where you should be."
"Nah, I can ditch the rest of the day," Anna replied, her hand gripping my arm to help hold me steady "The school gave me permission, it's fine."
"Right, uh huh," I grumbled, rolling my eyes "I'm, I'm fine, really. You need to be back at Marian to get ahead in, in, in year twelve, and I need to go back to class to get ahead of year ten. Just let me go, I'm fine."
"You're really not," she insisted, pushing on my arm
"Black," I growled, but gave upAnna eventually managed to push me onto the ground, but I gripped her arm and dragged her down with me. Once she was sitting in front of me I leant forward and placed my head on her shoulder, breathing deeply. My chest hurt, my head hurt, my throat hurt and my stomach was in protest. Overall I did want to be in class, I just didn't want to move.
"Here," Anna said, pulling a small container from her pocket "I stopped by your locker on the way in."
I sat up and greatfully took the container from her hands. I popped open the lid and pulled out a piece of strawberry before offering the container and the fruits inside to her. With a small smile Anna pulled out a small blueberry and popped it into her mouth.
"You are a life saver," I said with the huff of a laugh as I tried not to inhale the fruit
"Says you," Anna replied with a roll of her eyes and a cheeky smile "Giiirl, you probably saved carrot tops life just then."
"Don't remind me," I groanedI let my head fall back and hit the wall behind me with a sigh. I couldn't hear any other kids, and so I could only assume that the teachers had closed off the perimeter of the science and languages wing for a while. Anna and I said nothing, only snacked together in silence, until I opened my eyes and noticed that the Avengers had just been watching the dynamic between Anna and I. The creeps. I fixed my gaze on the team and slowly raised my hand, my arm aching.
"Okay, which one of you has been following me all day?" I asked, and the archer raised his hand and smiled cheekily at me
"That would be me," he grinned briefly
"Okay, stalkers," I huffed, watching as they moved closer "Why?"The group collapsed to the floor around Anna and I, and Anna scooched closer as if she had sensed my discomfort. I just kept nibbling on my container of fruit as I gave the team in front of me the mum version of the 'go on' look. The whole lot of them, with the exception of Black Widow, shifted almost nervously, all of them turning to look at Tony Stark, my first stalker.
"Because," Tony started, a weird glint to his eye "Because you, you are my daughter."
"WHAT!" I screached my eyes going wide and my throat feeling as if every word that escaped dug razor blades furthur into it, but I ignored that and kept eating "There is no gods damned way, no way, that's not true, he's lying. That's not true, there's no way it could be true..."I mumbled nonsensical and broken sentences to myself, my head burried in my hands. I mumbled to myself for a good few minutes before my head lifted and I looked up at everyone, my eyes resting on the dark haired, dark eyed tin man. My eyebrows creased as my mind tried to make the connection.
"Look, I know that I was a mistake, but you're not, honest to the gods, telling me that I wasn't even my fathers, the man I called my father, that stupid man whore..." I tried to connect "I'm not even related to him? I mean, I know that my mum was kinda... kinda, kind of a hoe, but... fucking fuck fuckety fuckety fuck fuck..."
I sighed deeply and frowned down at my empty fruit container with a slight pout. I pursed my lips in frustration at the missing food, but Anna's snort made me shake my head and refocus on what was in front of me. The Avengers.
"Please, please tell me your lying," I pleaded
"Nope. Why else would we stalk you?" Tony Stark asked
"Because you're a creep?" I suggestedI felt like my whole world was crumbling around me. I thought that I had lost my dad, my grandparents and my sister Mikayla. I had to burry them. And then there was this random guy, some famous asshole, trying to tell me that he was my real father. That I wasn't related to any of them. I didn't know what to think, everything was so conflicting. It was in that instance that I realised that my mother most definately had a type. Her past flings, her current boyfriend... Narsisistic man whores with a brain and dark hair. That was her type. I shook my head in denial and hurled myself up into a standing position. Or, I tried to. The second I stood up I wobbled and fell back town again, landing right in Anna's lap.
"Hey there," she smirked, quirking an eyebrow at me "Come here often?"
"Shut up, you have a boyfriend and are annoyingly straight," I murmured up to her, before simply turning my head to face Tony "So... what now? We've met, what more do you want?"
"I want you in America with me," he explained
"No," I refused, leaping out of Anna's lap "I get that you might not have known that I existed until recently, but that does not give you the excuse to suddenly want to be in ny life! I refuse to, to, to leave my mother. If I have to go so, does, she."
