Chapter 20

Scarlet's POV

I look out of the window - big mistake. Camera flashes blind me and I stumble back. Zayn holds me steady.

"Woah there!" He laughs drawing the curtains closed. I giggle and wander over to where the everyone else is. They're all crowding round Harvey, who is calling Paul.

"Paps everywhere...mmhm...we've done that" hes saying. I get bored easily so I step back. Catching sight of the new girl, Amber I think, I go to her.

"Hi I'm Scarlet!" I grin up at her. She looks at me in disgust,"Um why are you standing alone?" This seems to catch her off guard for some reason.

"None of your business" she snaps," spoilt brat aren't you? A phone at your age?" I flush a deep red. JJ hears and storms over.

"WHAT did you just say to my sister?" She growls holding me close.

"Well she is!" Amber says defensively holding her head high.

"NO ONE SAYS THAT TO SCARLET" JJ burst and attracts attention from the others. Tears fill my eyes.

"She's just like you" Amber shoots back.

"What's that supposed to mean?!" I feel Zayns hands on my shoulders, gently guiding me away. We go out of the kitchen and when we get to the staircase he scoops me up and carries me. My eyes are still wet with tears and a bit blurry. The closer we get to my bedroom - which is right at the top - the less I can hear Amber and JJ's row. Finally we get to my bedroom and the shouts are gone. Zayn sits down on the bed and rocks me gently.

"Shhh, shhh its ok," he whispers soothingly," Amber has you all wrong. You're lovely. If anyone is a spoilt brat it's her" my tears are gone by now and I close my eyes and rest my head against his chest.

"Now, I'm going to leave you to have a little rest. Come down whenever you want," I hear the smile is Zayns voice. I feel myself being gently put down and slowly fall asleep.
