Hike

I open my closet and stare at my clothes for about ten minutes and then finally decide.

I decided on a turquoise tank top with some black tights and my turquoise Nike running shoes. I braided my long, highlighted hair into two french braids and I was ready to go.

I put on some deodorant and took off to the kitchen. I grab my backpack with my bottle of ice water, my phone, a towel and a couple of snacks as I usually get hungry after a long jog or hike.

I placed all those items in my backpack and head outside to wait for Taron. I just locked the front door when I heard a car turning into my driveway. I turn around and see Taron waving at me from inside his car.

He signals for me to get in and I gladly took his offer. I opened the passenger door and hopped into his car.

"Hi there, you look nice and sporty." Taron smiles at me while I close the car door.

"Why thank you. I do try" I laugh. "You ready?" He asks while reversing out of the driveway. "Yup" I simply reply while popping the 'p' and we took off.

"You can just park here" I signal to the left. We parked and got out with all our things. "Here" Taron says and throws me my water bottle I took out of my backpack in the car to take a pre-hiking sip.

"Are you ready to lose?" I ask with a challenging tone in my voice. "Oh, the question is, are you?" Taron returns with the same challenging tone.

"You bet I'm ready.. to win!" I reply. "Okay, first one at the top of the hill wins and the last one obviously loses." Taron states.

"Okay but what happens when you lose?" I ask being interested in his upcoming answer.

"The loser has to wash my car and take me on a coffee date." Taron states and I raise an eyebrow. "Why do you keep referring to 'me' the whole time?" I ask.

"To make it clear that I will be the one winning." Taron laughs and I punch him playfully on the shoulder. "We'll see." I reply and we started heading up the mountain with everything we have.

Luckily it's not a very high mountain, it's more like a hill if you look at it.

"Wow" I breathe while staring at the beautiful view in front of me and no, it's not Taron without a shirt, it's the beautiful landscape in front of me.

I saw a rock that fitted my description of a perfect natural chair and sat on it. I took my water bottle and gulped down the water because I was absolutely wasted.

I won of course but I still feel like a loser because I've realised just how out of shape I was. "Wow, I cannot believe I lost!" Taron breathes out heavily and bends over to catch his breath.

"I told you that I'm going to win." I reply sassily. "I'll get my sponge and wallet ready." He states and I laugh.

"Sucks to be on the losing side hay" I say getting up. "It sure does. Come here I need you to check this out." Taron says tugging at his shirt.

I moved closer thinking there might be something in or on his shirt like a bug or something. Stupid mistake.

"Ha! Got you!" Taron cheers and grabs me into his arms and rubs his sweat all over my face and body. "Let go of me you scoundrel!" I laugh as I try to escape but his grip was too strong for my weak and tired little body.

He finally let go of me and I let out a deep, thankful breath. "We should do this more often, I enjoy being in your presence. You make me forget about my busy life and all the stress." Taron states with a genuine smile which warms my heart.

"No problem. I like spending time with you as well, I mean it's long over due. We used to do stuff together all the time and it's sad how much time we've lost ever since our split after high school." I say as we headed down again.

"Yes, but we have to make up for lost time." Taron replies and I smile at his remark. "Yes we do." I reply.

When we finally got to the level grounds we saw a bunch of black cars, cameras and people with microphones.

"What's going on over here?" I ask pointing into their direction.

"Damn it! Paparazzi! I was hoping to avoid them. Okay, so in three seconds we run into the direction of my car as fast as we can and jump in. Don't make any eye contact and ignore all questions or comments." Taron said and I nodded frantically.

"Three, two, one, go!!"

And we sped off to his car like two hurricanes rapidly storming over a country.
