"Earth, fire, air, water. Long, long ago the four elements coincided in peace and harmony and then war fell upon the world beginning with avatar Aang and the fire nation. More recently, avatar Korra battled the equalists. Bent on destroying the art that is bending, the equalists waged war on Republic City and though Korra fought well against them, the equalists won and bending was outlawed. It is up to avatar Zhang to bring peace once again to the four nations and restore the use of bending,"

Cold chains entangled Zhang's hands. He stood in a dark room, waiting for the guards to reenter his cell for usual training. The men who had taken Zhang were named The White Lotus, they too had fallen out of tradition and now, instead of helping the avatar, their means are to neutralize him. Zhang was chained for many years. He had grown older but stronger as he trained more. The guards kept hi healthy but he never saw the light of day. They really only kept zhang alive to use as a weapon if it were ever needed. The last words he spoke to his mother always rang in his head, I'll come back I promise. And so he would. today was the final day he would endure his imprisonment.

Finally, the guards entered the cell. One held a tray of food that he would have to feed Zhang, the other held a baton in case he stepped out of line. But they'd need much more than a baton to put up with Zhang. The gaurds walked in front of him and placed the tray on a table "Good afternoon, avatar. Comfortable?," they giggled and snorted at the ridicule. Zhang grabbed the chains tight. The gaurd started to pick up the fork to feed Zhang and inched it closer and closer to his mouth as he talked to the other gaurd. Zhang pulled his wrists up and down the chains vigorously but the gaurds didn't notice. The sliding of his wrists created friction, creating heat which Zhang could manipulate. He forced the heat to extend down the chain, turning it a deep red color. Suddenly, the chains could take no more heat and they snapped, just before the spoon the guard held rached Zhang's mouth. The guard's eyes widened. Zhang took them by surprize and slashed each of the chains at the guards. he left their faces scorched. he tooko the keys off one of the guards and fled through the doors and into a corridor. White Lotus members were scattered throughout the hall. Zhang quickly raised his hands and threw his fists at the men. Walls of earth went in each direction of the corridor and dove back into the ground after crashing into the guards. He raced down the hall and up three flights of stairs and came upon the room he had been in when he was captured. He ran straight through the large doors in the front of the building and burst straight into the chaos of the city. He scanned the area hastily. There were crowds of people on the sidewalk so he shouldn't be found so fast. Zhang didn't know where to go. If he went home, he put his family in danger. If he stayed on the sidewalk, he'd be discovered. An idea sprung into his head. Zhang jumped off the sidewalk and into the street which was heavily populated with Sauotomobiles. He slammed down onto the ground with such force the concrete cracked. From all around him pillars of earth s[rang up and encircled him. He saw the sewer drain, lifted up the top, and jumped down.

In the sewer, water that contained who-knows-what streamed past his feat, wetting his clothes. Wolfbats hung on the roof of the sewer. He hurried along the path so that nobody would catch him in his escape. He finally found a mostly dry platform to rest and collapsed. He was exhausted and he could not help but regret not staying and finishing his food before he fled his prison. He thought of his mother who must have missed him dearly and cried very hard when he was taken. He thought of his sister Sukki and the way she would miss him and always wonder where he was. He thought about his best friend Aurian who would never have any idea of where he was. Zhang promised himself he'd fnd his family one day.

Zhang laid on the damp platform for an hour or so just to regain his strength and before he could get up and return his escape, he heard a noise. Repeated sounds of splashing came from one of the tunnels surrounding him. Zhang panicked. He jumped to hs feet and tried for a place to hide but found himself motionless. The splahing sounds came closer and closer untill finally a figure emerged from the tunnel in front of him. A teenager with straight hair and a wide smile approached him. The teen seemed to not not notic Zhang untill he got really close. His smile faded and he ran up to Zhang. "Oh my gosh, are you okay?" The boy must've seen the panic in Zhang's eyes because the same panick reflected off his.

"Yes, I'm fine I just-I've gotta find a safe place. Someone is chasing me....I think," he put out his hand ",my name's Zhang of the Earthern City."

"Glad to hear you're okay. We can take you some place safe," Zhang didn't even notice the taller, older-looking boy behind the teen who was speaking to him, "my name's Uyi, pleased to meet you." The boy took Zhang's hand and walked into the tunnel to his right. The other boy introduced himself as the three of them walked through the sewage.

"I'm Yunami. We're brothers by the way," after Yunami spoke Uyi nodded and release Zhnag's hand. The trio walked for hours and Zhang told them of the White Lotus men who had abducted him. He left out the part about being the avatar becasue he thought they may not help him if they knew or they may do worse. As they walked the tunnel expanded inch by inch untill it was as tall as a building and then it stopped. The water flowed down into a stream like a waterfall of sewage that seemed to get purer and purer as it went until it was clean. A cavern was directly in front of them, a very large one. Lights glowed and reflected onto Zhang's face. A city stood in front of them.

"Welcome," said Uyi," To Uhnderstone City."
