Beginnings

You always wondered what it's like to have a true family.

A little brother or sister and a Mom and Dad to hold you and love you.

You used to have one—a little brother and a mother and father who loved each other.

You were living a happy life beginning to go to school and enjoying time with friends.

But it was not meant to be.

April 24th, ten years ago was when everything happened.

You were only five at the time when you were kidnapped; you remember nothing of the time and only recalled voices muttering to each other under a ringing sound, all that you knew about what happened was what you were told.

Weeks after your disappearance officers had found you in an abandoned warehouse just sitting there staring at the wall, blood all over a white hospital gown you were wearing. Apparently you were in a doll-like trance not even moving or speaking, barely breathing.

It had taken two weeks before you finally were able to move by yourself but you still were eerily silent. A month after and you began to speak again but barely showed emotion at all until several months later when you were back to normal like nothing even happened.

However you had began to notice changes.

You would be drawing and want a crayon that would be all the way across the table you were sitting on out of your reach. If you concentrated enough directly on it, the crayon would magically roll over to you.

No matter a completely flat, steep incline, or decline of said surface.

It wasn't just crayons— colored pencils, paper, scissors, hole punch, anything you could lift you could move. Then later on at times you could feel this tingling sensation all over your body and people would say you would disappear in the blink of an eye.

Your parents were not amused by your new trick however and admonished you not to disappear in front of anyone, or show it off to any friends. But the thing was, you couldn't control it.

Later on when you were six years old you wanted an expensive teddy bed that was the most beautiful bear you'd ever seen. It had beautiful bright blue eyes and golden-white fur with embroidered golden roses.

It had on a gold dress made from silk and lace that you had thought was so beautiful and soft to the touch. The bear even had small silk white wings and a golden halo from a metal rod.

And then when you hugged the angel-bear, you thought you were hugging a cloud. When you looked at the price tag however, your smile turned into a small frown as you read it was twenty-five gil.

You were in first grade so you knew it must've been pricey if it was past ten gil. You were undetermined though and had put on your most sweetest and innocent "cute-pie-face" as you walked towards your parents.

At the time you didn't care what they were speaking but you could tell it was urgent by the way they were talking in hush voices.

"Mommy? Daddy?" You had said in the most sweetest voice you could muster.

Your parents conversation ended in a split second and turned to look down at you with tenseness. However their tenseness soon dissipated noticing the bear you were hugging closely to your chest—you hadn't been listening to their quiet conversation.

Your mother knelt down and took the bear from you to look at the cost, but she shook her head looking at the overpriced tag.

"Sorry sweetie, it's too expensive." She said shaking her head.
