Metropolis
Clark stood there with his eyes wide opened as if they were about to fall out at any given moment. He blinked a couple of times before he could finally register the information."H-How?" he blurt out trying to keep all the upcoming emotions in line
"You see when you said that Bruce acted stranger than usual when he saw the murderer escapee, so I thought that this Harry-guy and the convict are somehow related to each other... Aaaand THIS is the result" Lois said proudly as she presented the file in front of Clark victoriously.
Clark, no longer standing the tension tried to snatch the file from her to no avail.
"Oh no ,you don't!" said Lois, as she tried to keep the file by stretching out her arm further away from him as possible "You are not the only one here who is curious"
Lois made her way to the kitchen table and sat on the closest chair, indicating to Clark to sit beside her, when Clark didn't move an inch still awestruck from the sudden discovery, she said "Come here Smallville or else I'll just turn on my heels and leave and burn the file without even thinking twice"
"Ugh, fine" Clark grumbled as he went to sit on a chair near the kitchen table with Lois
Lois carefully opened the file in front of them...
Gotham city
The two men didn't move a muscle for some time, giving an uneasy feeling as they stared at one another. Batman was shooting daggers at the convict, he tightened his hold on the batarang thinking weather to throw it or not.
As for the other man, well, it seemed like he went through hell and back. His clothes were all torn and hanged loosely over his slender body, his hands shacking slightly whenever he took a breath. Bruce noticed that the mischievous sparks that used to glitter in his eyes were gone, leaving a dull and merely noticeable light of life.
"Night Wing..." the man began slowly approaching him
"Don't call me that!" Bruce growled, bringing the the batarang to his eye level warningly "You lost the privilege of calling me that twelve years ago, Black"
"Bruce... You know perfectly well that I would've rather kiss Snivillus' ass rather than join Voldemort" said Black trying to convince his friend, he went one step closer but stopped when a batarang went flying his way. Luckily, Sirius dodged it on time "What the hell Wingie!!??" he shouted but his protest was completely ignored by the dark knight.
"Give me at least one specific reason why should I believe you?!" Bruce shouted making his cold and invincible image shatter into million pieces, his emotions jumping up and down like a roller coaster showing themselves as an unknown force of wind that blew into Black's direction pinching him into the wall in process.
"Bruce you have to listen to me!" shouted Black "I know how you feel, and that those past years haven't been easy for you! But please hear me out!"
"Tell me did you ever felt helpless and powerless, seeing your son and the love of your life each and every single day for twelve years knowing that they wouldn't remember you!" yelled Bruce as he approached Black the wind getting stronger and powerful with each step "Do you know how it feels when your soul is teared apart each time when you are obligated to push them away so that they could stay safe!"
