Sydney's POV: The last class of the day. Thank the lord Jesus. I was sitting in class, day dreaming in my seat. Ignoring everything around me. I was in the moment, and then the last person I thought I would ever see came and sat down next to me. "Hey." Derek said casually. I slowly turned my head to look at him. He was looking at me like everything was normal. I didn't speak and rolled my eyes. I focused my gaze to the front of the class room. "Really? Silent treatment?" Derek was trying to get my attention but I denied it. "Can we just start over?" He elbowed my arm playfully but I pulled away and moved over. "Fine." Derek said and looked towards the direction I was looking. The teacher was writing stuff on the board and the class was silent except for a few people chatting around us. "How do you do that?" I spoke softly, but loud enough so he could hear. "Do what." He snapped his attention back to me, smiling a bit for I had broken the silence."Pretend everything is okay, like the past never happened, never existed" I couldn't look at him so I continued looking at the front of the class, mainly to avoid eye contact. "I'm not doing that, I'm trying to be friendly, hoping that we can just forgive each other, and it least try to be friends." Derek spoke towards me but I continued to look away. "I think it's a little too late for that." I was speaking slowly. Not sure why, i just spoke in a lower slower tone. I guess I was scared, of what I was saying, my mind was hesitating, making sure to say the right thing. "It's never too late to be friends." I could almost see his smile, and the slight twitch in his eyes, which obviously shows he's nervous for my answer.
Although I decided not to reply I kept in mind what he said. And by the end of the lesson I still hadn't stopped thinking about it. Friends. As much as I hate to admit it, friends sounded a lot better than enemies. And I miss him. We used to be friends, more like best friends... Well, we were in love. At the moment I needed someone to talk to, and the recent conversation with Derek was the best I've had for weeks now, truthfully, he wasn't such a bad guy. Derek got up, but I stopped him. "Derek, wait." I said and he slowly turned around. "Maybe your right." I continued. Derek stared back at me blankly. "I could try friends." I sounded unsure. "Call me." Was all he said. He smiled at me cheekily. "Oh, I won't." I smiled back sarcastically. Derek walked away glaring back at me until I was out of sight. I waited a while before leaving. This is a good thing right? I mean, Being friends with you ex... That could work. I think.
Justin's POV: The door bell rang... And then it rang again. I waited for my mother to answer the door but it kept ringing. "Mum!" I shouted from my bedroom. "Someones at the door!" There was no reply. The door bell rang again followed by many knocks afterwards. I moaned and got up. I ran my fingers through my messy bed hair. Who the hell would be knocking on the door at 9:00 at night? I walked towards the door and just as I was opening it the person knocked again. I swung the door open. "Jeez, what took you so long to answer the damn door." An annoying voice said. I looked up to be greeted by my step brother Felix. "What are you doing here, I thought you were supposed to be coming home tomorrow morning..." I said coldly. "Um.. Surprise??" He put his hand over his head. "Anyway help me bring these inside will you." He stepped to the side to reveal a mountain loud of luggage. "Jesus, I thought you were only staying for a little while. Not a whole century." Felix picked up one of the bags and swung it over his shoulder. "What do you mean? Imma spend as much time with my lil bro as possible." He smiled and playfully punched me as he walked inside. "Yay?" I replied sarcastically. I picked up the other bags and struggled to bring them inside. "Felix, is that you I hear?" My mother came running into the room. "Hey Mother." He wrapped his arms around her. Felix made my mother seem really short, considering his broad height. "Good to see you two bonding." I dropped the bags onto the ground lazily. "What a surprise!" My mom ignore my comment. She guided Felix through the hallway to his bedroom, where he could put all his crap load of luggage. "I'll let you unpack, and darling, it's good to have you home." My mother said sweetly. Oh, if only she knew.. I traveled back to my bedroom where I lay down on my bed and put on my headphones to listen to some calming music, well if you call metal rock calm music. I rested my eyes and fell into i light sleep.
It wasn't long later that I had fallen asleep. Suddenly I was woken to the sound of crashing coming from the kitchen. I shot up and looked around confused of what I heard. I looked towards the window to see a bright sun shining through. It was morning. I took off my headphones and walked out to where the horrid sound was. "Good morning!" My mother said cheerfully. "Huh morning." I smiled back. I looked over to see Felix picking up some pans that had fallen from the shelves. "What's going on here?" I questioned and slid down onto a chair at the table. "Felix is trying to make us some breakfast." My mother giggled. "Yeah.. Trying." Felix smiled sarcastically at me and I returned the favour. I eyed Felix and he stared back for a second. Then suddenly there were three knocked on the door. Which meant Jade was here for school. Three knocks was our little way of communicating. I broke off the staring contest and rushed to get the door. I swung it open and Jade stood there smiling. "Hey!" Her voice was music to my ears. "Morning" I smiled back. Jade stepped inside and pecked my cheek. "I see your not ready for school.." She examined my choice of clothing. "I slept in..." I took her hand and walked her to my bedroom. She walked in towards my closet and decided to pick me an outfit for the day. "Hmm, let's see..." She looked through some T-shirts. "Seriously?" She found an old Toy Story shirt. Jade giggled and tossed it to me along with a pair of jeans. "I'm not wearing this." I smiled and tossed it back. "Yes you are." We tossed it back and forth for a while. And then soon it turned into a battle of fight for the shirt.
She ran around waving it in the air, while I tried to catch her. I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in making her scream. I took the shirt and hid it behind me. She wrestled me for the shirt but I had sat on it and wouldn't get up. "What is going on in there?" Felix was standing behind the door. "Who is that?" Jade whispered. We both looked at the closed door. "Felix.." I rolled my eyes. "Your brother!" She pushed me away and got up to open the door. "Well look who it is." Jade smiled. Felix looked back at Jade. "Is that Jade Gilbert?" He leaned in and hugged her then looked back at me and mouthed the words 'oh my god, she's hot!' I shook my head wildly in reply. Jade pulled away and then came back to sit next to me. It was silent for a while and then she got up and walked towards the door again. "Well I'd love to catch up but we have to get to school." Felix gave Jade a look which made me a little angry. "Yeah." I got up as well. "I'll meet you down stairs." Jade tossed me the toy story t-shirt one last time then wondered outside leaving me with Felix. "Hasn't she grown up!" Felix smirked. "She's taken." I quickly said. "Oh, well isn't that a shame." He continued to smile and then followed Jade out the room. He really is getting on my nerves...
