Justin's POV: It felt weird going to school and not having Reece to talk to, He wasn't by my locker in the morning, he wasn't in my English class, he wasn't anywhere anymore. I tried not to feel alone, but he was a brother to me. A friend. It sucked that he didn't say goodbye. And the fact that I don't know when he's coming back, it makes it all so much worse. And speaking of brothers, my step brother is coming home. He's been living with my step father, whom I have nothing to do with anymore after what he did to my mom. My real father left when I was young and then my mother married Dan, my step dad. Dan left my mom for another woman a few years ago. Jerk, I know. But they left us with Felix. Felix is my step brother, but we are nothing alike, in fact I can't stand him. He reminds me of Dan so much, and that's only half of the reason why I don't like him. I really wish it wasn't now he was coming home. I've been through so much and he has no idea about anything. I wish he could just stay with Dan forever, but it's his turn to visit my mum. And my mum wants to see him. Why wouldn't she, he's her second son. All does she know he's a complete bad boy.
Jades POV: "You haven't seen you brother in what, a year?" I said to Justin over the phone. I could hear him sigh "step brother." He corrected. "It should be good, you two could use some bonding time." I was walking into school and towards my locker. Justin scoffed and I could nearly hear him roll his eyes. "He's a jerk." He said meaningly. "Justin, come on you have to give him a chance." I said and tilted my head to hold my phone so I could open my locker at the same time. "He's had way too many chances." There was a slight pause, Justin did have a point. As far as I know Felix hasn't always been a good kid and Justin and him used to fight a lot when we were younger. He's about a year older than us, and he is always acting like it. "Justin, where are you?" I asked curiously. "I'm outside." He said. "Are we calling from in the same building?" I laughed into the phone. "Technology these days." He joked. I looked down the hall and heard someone scream in pain. "Did you hear that?" I closed my locker and look where everyone was looking. "No.." Justin said. "I'll talk to you later." I said hanging up the phone, not giving him a chance to reply. I walked down the hallway towards the crowd. "Fight." "Fight" "Fight" people were chanting. I squeezed my way through the crowd to find Matt being beat up by some of the other seniors. I stood there and watched. I wasn't going to lie, the boy deserved it. But I couldn't stand there and do nothing. I walked out into the fight and shouted at them to stop. "Cut it out!" I separated Matt and the other guy, he was huge, like a hulk. Hulk backed off, obviously not going to hit a girl. People stopped chanting and groaned. "Don't you have somewhere to be?" I looked at everyone around me. They all walked off and soon the crowd was gone. I looked down at Matt who had blood coming from his nose. "Why did you do that?" He asked breathlessly. "I have no idea." I plainly said. "Jade, I'm really sorry." He said and stepped in toward me. I took a step back immediately. Still startled from the past. "For what?" I avoided looking him in the eyes. "You know what... But you have to understand that's not me, I wasn't in a good place. I was troubled. And I'm better now." His excuses burned my ears. I turned my gaze to look at him strongly in the eyes. "You can't change who you were.. Who you are. Your a monster to me and you always will be." I took another step back and looked at him with no emotion what so ever. Matt looked rather hurt. He looked down and closed his eyes. I felt bad for what I said, but it was the truth. Suddenly someone grabbed him and slammed him against the locker, Justin, he put his arm to his neck aggressively. "You've got guts, talking to her." Justin said. Matt grabbed his arm and pulled it away strongly. "Give me a break." He pushed past him a glared at me one last time. He walked off. I looked at Justin's back. "I can take care of myself." I said to him. He turned around slowly. "I know." He said in reply. And looked down at me lovingly. "He just makes me angry." Justin said and sighed. "Yeah no kidding. Apparently he's 'changed'" I laughed and over exaggerated the last word. "No shit." He swore. And then laughed it off. The bell had rung a few seconds ago but we ignored it. "I'll see you after school then." He said and we both stood there awkwardly. "See you." I said looking him in the eyes. I turned around slowly and started to walk away. Then suddenly he grabbed my hand and pulled me in towards him. I looked up at him and then he kissed me. It was amazing, romantic. I didn't want to stop. I pulled away and caught my breathe. "Where gonna be late for class" I said softly. Justin's eyes were still closed. "I don't care." He said and went in again. I turned my head and giggled. "Well I care." I pecked his lips one last time and then walked off. Turning back around to look at him as I walked, I couldn't help but blush. I realized how good looking he really was. Damn.
