Vibration, very strong vibration. I started stretching and sat down in the bed with closed eyes.

Then I took my phone from next to me and opened it without looking

"Hi," I muttered.

"Nancy, where the hell are you?"

Those words, that voice... Oh no!

"Oh my God, Adam. I am so sorry; I don't know what to say... I was so tired and went home directly and I fell asleep... I... I... I am so sorry"

"It's okay... Breathe... Can you come now?"

I removed the phone from my ear and looked at the phone's clock. It was 4:15; mom is going to return at 6:00

"I can," I told him, "but I can't be late"

"I will be happy if I saw you for five minutes"

My cheeks reddened, "mmm, ok. See ya"

How did we end up like this? I remember that last week we had very few conversations and they were nothing big. How did we change from that to this? I couldn't care less. Now, I have someone who really cares. That's all that matters.

I changed and tidied my messy hair up then went to meet Adam.

He was sitting by the river looking at it with tense eyes. He was so deep into thought that he didn't notice me until I sat next to him.

"I wonder what's in that river that could make you so deep into thought"

I looked at him to find him looking at me with a look that warmed my heart.

"You worried me"

I smiled sheepishly, "yeah, sorry for that"

"Never do it again"

"I won't, don't worry"

"So, detective," he said after some silence, "where are we now?"

"Nowhere," I said, "I am losing hope every day"

"Evidence isn't going to knock on our door," he said optimistically, "we should search closely"

"Where?"

"Let's go to the place where you were hit"

"Didn't the police search the place? You were the one who said that they won't find a thing. So do you really think that we can find something?"

"Two days ago, the conversation was the other way around. What happened?"

Fear... Fear is happening. The attack, the creepy message, everyone telling me to stay away.

I threw a stone into the water, "Don't know"

He stood up and offered his hand so I took it and stood up. He took my hand and started walking me in the streets.

"What are you doing? Where are we going? People are watching," those are just some things that I tried to tell him with no response from him. But there was a very good response from the watching audience.

We went to the place where I was hit. It was covered with police tapes.

"Great," Adam said in anger.

"Why are we even here?"

"I thought that we will go to the crime scene and find something that the police didn't notice."

"You were watching Sherlock again, weren't you?"

Then I laughed at him and after a few seconds, he laughed with me. Yes, we were two maniacs laughing in the street but it was the first time that I laugh since Dany's disappearance.
