The Betas have the second highest ranking in a wolf pack. Betas can breed between each other (within their pack -unless given permission otherwise), Deltas, Zetas and Gammas. They can have puppies only if they get permission from their Alpha. The job of the Betas is to serve as an advisor/protector/helper to the Alpha and his family exclusively, and to help them greet newcomers to the pack.
