“He… he…he” Niall whispered before breaking down in tears.
“He tried to kill himself. There was a note written out lying on his bed. He said he couldn’t live without you Catie. He couldn’t live knowing you were taken. He couldn’t live without you.” Zayn said, a silent tear rolling down his face.
All I could do was stop and stare at my brother, hoping he was not telling the truth, or that this was just a dream. But it’s not a dream or a lie.
A few days later I asked the nurse if I could see Harry alone. If I had only stopped in his room before leaving for mini golf, Harry might not have tried to do what he attempted to do. She said I could, and I burst into the room. There was Harry. He was sleeping. His usually glowing face was now pale and looked delicate. I was told he still refused to finish his meals, and ate barely anything still. He looked so fragile just lying there. I could have stopped this all from happening. I should have noticed, I should have cared more. When I was in the room, the door slammed shut, waking him up. I flopped onto the pullout couch. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry Haz. I shouldn’t have been so selfish. I should have noticed.” I said in between sobs “but I didn’t, and look where it got me. Look where it got you. I… I… I’m so sorry Hazza.” I said, still weeping.
You could hear the steady beat of the monitor signifying his heart was working properly. I sat there sobbing for a while longer. Then I noticed something in the room was different. All I heard was a long beep that didn’t stop. “Harry?” I said, turning to see his eyes closed and his chest not moving up and down. Harry Styles had stopped breathing.
