Eddie sighed as he swept around the house. He took the housework job upon himself when his mother left. Not forever, just on a christmas trip with her coworkers. She had spent the past month preparing herself for her trip to Las Vegas. Eddie didn't really mind. He figured it'd be nice to have a nice, relaxing break from his social life. After hours of cleaning, he finally found himself landed on the couch.
Eddie huffed when the scent of burned food filled the room. The fucking neighbors still never learned to cook. He heard muffled yelling coming from the house next door. In an angry rage, he stood up. He grabbed his coat (and boots, and gloves, and scarf, and hat), and headed out.
He knocked on the door, but nobody answered. He pushed the door open, expecting the worst. He was greeted with something surprising. A boy, maybe his age. He watched as the boy ran around the kitchen, pots and pans everywhere. "Uhm, are you okay?" Eddie asked, politely. The curly hair boy screamed and turned around. "Who the fuck are you! Why are you in my house!" He asked, startled. Eddie rolled his eyes, "Jeez, calm down. It's not my fault you practically burn the house down everyday, I can smell that shit all the time. What are you making anyways?"
Richie sighed, "I'm trying to make fucking noodles but I'm not very good." He sat down and put his head in his hands. Silence filled the room, but Richie looked up when he saw the other boy stirring the noodles in the pot. "What are you-" "I'm saving your ass. It's Eddie, by the way."
Eddie did this same routine everyday for the next two years.
