Sausage Talk

"Taehyung, please don't touch that."

You were quick to snatch the plate of sausage away from the boy before he ignored your warning.

A shy boxy smile came over his features as he took a step towards Jin. The older boy raised a pair of chopsticks up threateningly in Tae's direction. "No." Jin didn't even look away from the pot, but the message was clear and Taehyung scampered away.

Laughing slightly at his retreating figure, you smiled over at Jin. "It's been four years, you'd think he would quit by now." Everytime you and Jin prepared a meal, Taehyung was right there to try and sneak a bite.

Jin just shook his head, making a few strands of dyed black hair fall into his eyes. He flicked them away with a jerk of his head; they fell back into place. "He'll forever be fifteen."

"And you'll forever be an old man."

Jin spun around so quick you had to jump back to avoid getting empaled by the chopstick. "Ay, you brat! I'm only five years older than you!"

Jungkook, who had snuck into the kitchen when Taehyung left, just grinned smugly.

Jin lunged forward to smack the annoying little seventeen year old, but it didn't faze Jungkook. He just grabbed a piece of the sausage and skipped happily out of the room, belting the lyrics to No as loudly as he could.

Okay, you couldn't help but snicker quietly into your hand. You knew Jungkook - typically - didn't mean to disrespect Jin, he mostly did it to lighten the mood, or to erase his boredom. However, that wasn't the funniest part. Jungkook's jokes only stayed alive because Jin fell for it every single time.

You guessed that's why Jungkook made Jin his main target, the man was just too easy to mess with.

Your laugher was pulled to an abrupt stop as you just realized Jungkook had taken your food. "Hey! I worked really hard on that!"

Still fuming, Jin gave you a blank look. "All you did was slice the pieces."

"I managed not to cut myself while cutting those pieces, that's an achievement in my book." It wasn't that you were clumsy, per say, you just had a particular time with sharp things. You could slice you hand open on a can just as easily as you could holding a knife, that (as Yoongi oh so lovingly reminded you every day) took a special skill only you possessed. So, yes, you worked really hard on cutting those sausages.

"Fair enough." He turned his attention back to the stove, "hand me the oil, please."

Here's the thing about eating with a group of boys: If you aren't fast enough- tough luck.

It didn't matter that the seven of them were all on diets, you knew they were going to take advantage of every single calorie they were allowed to inhale.

And inhale they did.

The second you an Jin sat down after setting out the pots and pans full of food, chopsticks and plates went flying. Well, not literally, but close enough.

The first time you had a meal with the boys, you were terrified to say the least. They grabbed for food like they were lions seeing a gazelle after a week without eating. As fast as they could get stuff on their plate, it was already in their mouths and they were going back for more.

You came from a family of all girls, eating with guys had been uncharted territory at the time.

Obviously, you had gradually gotten used to it over the four years that you had known them. You had gotten so used to it in fact that you too reached for food like it was gold.

"Do I see blood in my noodles?" Jimin, clearly taking an invisible jab at you, brought a noodle towards his face to examine the nonexistent red.

"No," you bit out. "I actually didn't cut myself this time."

Yoongi took this as a chance to feed off of Jimin's teasing. "Oh? No wonder I didn't catch the usual after taste of copper."

If you weren't sitting cross legged on the floor you would have kicked them both.

"The rice is missing it's typical pink tint." Luckily for you, Jungkook was sitting to you immediate right so you were able to flick the outer shell of his ear.

The boy chuckled, almost toppling over Hoseok to get away from your petty attack.

Hoseok responded by shoving Jungkook away from him, but his elbow accidentally knocked into Namjoon who was taking a sip of coke.

The beverage found itself drenching our leaders lap. The man barely even flinched.

"Be a leader they said," Namjoon took a particularly violent stab at his food, "it will be fun they said." His head bobbing side to side in mocking manner as he wolfed down his food.

The table fell silent.

Joon continued to mutter sarcastically to himself, making ridiculous gestures as the youngest group members struggled to keep their laughter in.

"Carful with that sausage, you might choke."

Jin spit out his drink.
