Chaper 5

12:30pm

All windows are open letting sunshine and a slight breeze in my bedroom. The smell of lavender filled the room as a scentsy candle burned on my desk. White surfaces look brighter than normal. Gold decor shine from sun rays. The neatly made bed looks tidy with the sheets super flat, pillows fluffed and placed in their spot and a light pink knitted blanket at the end of the bed. A colorful, beautiful, passionate bohemian mandal tapestry flowing in the breeze that flows throughout the room. Everything looks perfect.

I turned around to open the balcony doors, and slowly stepped out into the partly cloudy day. Step by step, walking over to the metal railing, I took deep breaths. My warm arms leaned on the cold railing making me shiver. I looked at the trees swaying back and forth, and listening to them brush up against each leaf sounding like waves crashing against the shore.

I peered down to my feet and in the corner of my eye a black SUV pulled up next to my house. Getting out of the 4-wheeled vehicle was my two best friends for life. Chloee and Addison. Quickly both of the bolted to the front door of my house. Knocking and ringing the doorbell constantly not stopping. My mother opened the door. They bursted through the door and passed my mother. "Well hello to you girls too!" My calm mother laughed as she shut the door softly. "Hi Mrs. Rose!" The two of them shouted as they were running up the stairs and to my room. The handle bar of my door jiggled and flung open with a loud bang as it hit the wall.

"You have to tell us everything." Chloee demanded. "EVERYTHING!" Addison yelled as she closed the door behind her. The perfect layed out bed was not so perfect anymore as Chloee and Addison went to go lay on my bed with their heads rested against the palm of their hands. I sat on the chair that was placed by my marble desk. "Well after I got done texting you guys Zach was on his balcony as well...watching me." I said as calmly as possible. The girls eyes widened. I continued, "He asked me what all that was about. I told him it was nothing but he said it wasn't just nothing since my face expressions changed every time I went to type back on my phone." Both Addison and Chloee looked at me wanting more. "Ok so moral of the story is...I opened up. After dinner I went to go sing in my balcony and apparently he followed me and listened to the whole thing. But he ended up harmonizing with me!" Jumping up to their bums they were sitting now waiting for me to finish. I've got their attention now. "He asked me why I never told him I sang, and I responded with, 'you never asked plus we dont like ever talk'. His mom then called him down so they can go back to their house but before he left he told me he wanted to talk more!" "Well what did you say!?" Both of them shouted very excited. "Well......I....I said yes." I sighed in relief now knowing that a 200 pound weight was just lifted off my shoulders. Addison and Chloee looked at each other and back at me. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They were shrieking and yelling in excitement. I finally opend up to someone! I said to myself almost as excited as the girls in front of me jumping up and down. I smiled a little and started to blush. Ohhh shit. At that moment I knew Chloee or Addison saw, maybe even both. They stopped to look at me but I turned away.

"Are you...BLUSHING!?" I heard Addison say. "No" I mumbled. "Enid!??" This time Chloee spoke. "Umm mayyybeeee?" I could feel eyes burning into the back of my head. "Okay fine I am." They yet again started to shreek. I turned back around and walked over to my bed brushing past the girls. Plopping on my bed I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through social media. The two girls joined me as they knew I wasn't going to speek further more about the topic.

All three of us girls were casually sitting on my bed. A big gust of wind bursted through the windows. I sighed knowing that I had to get up off the bed and shut the windows. Hopping off the bed Chloee and Addison watched me head towards the windows. Half way there I saw a shadow, then a white figure came into my bedroom. It was a paper airplane. Landing on the wooden floor of my room, me, Addison, and Chloee looked at each other and then back at the paper airplane.

I ran to the paper airlplane that lay on the floor and grabbed it before anyone else could. "What in the actual hell is that!?"Chloee screamed."I honestly have no clue. I mean besides its just a paper airplane. Nothing less. Nothing more." I stated. "Ummm you might want to re think that!" Addison looked kind of worried when she said that. She came over to me and flipped the airplane around to the other side. "Open it!" Was written on the side. I shrugged my shoulders and started unfolding the airplane.

Inside was a really long note. I mean it probably wasn't that long but to me it was long. Only because I dont like reading, but I read the note anyway.

Enid,
     Hey its Zach. I figured since you said that we could start talking that maybe we could get to know each other better. What im doing right now is probably really cliché but I've been really busy lately and I thought since we live next door to each other maybe we could be like pen pals or something. Idk I just really like writing. So are you up for this or no. Its completely fine if you don't want to. Ill just give you my number instead. I mean that is if you want it. Anyway um I hope you had a good day. Respond back? The same way I did it?

Huh he really did want to start talking more. "You really should reply back." Chloee mumbled. I sighed knowing what her excuse might be if I replied with a "why". So instead I said, "I don't know." "Enid Rose, you need to start opening up. Would Parker want this?"
I looked down at my feet. Parker... My bestfriend since diapers. I missed him....a lot. Probably more than anyone. Coming out of my thoughts I mumbled "No." "Okay then you need to grab a fresh piece of paper and a pencil and start writing before I force you too!" Realising she was very serious, I sighed and went to my desk, grabbed the supplies and started writing.

Finishing the note one the paper I folded the paper into and airplane. Addison grabbed a chair for me and set it down by the window. I slowly stepped up on the chair and looked out the window towards Zach's room. His window was also open. Aiming the paper airplane I flung my arm out and away the paper airplane went floating in the air and through Zach's window.

Now, we wait.....

A/n:ITS 2018 MY DUDES!! This one took me a couple more days than usual to complete this chapter. School has just been stressing me out lately. But I'm trying to get back on track. So with that I hope you liked this cute (I think) chapter! Bye bye fellow limelight!👋
