Avery's POV
Tomorrow is going to be interesting.
Isabella was at the hospital with dad, so it was easy to move out without trouble. I was holding my bags in my hands as I turned around to look back at the house one last time. This house contained memories mostly bad but some good.
The day Ri was born, they brought her home. I was told to stay home by my father; I didn't even get to see Ri's birth.
But when they got home, mom let me hold her. I held Ri in my tiny nine-year-old arms and held my finger to her. She had beautiful hazel eyes just like mine, and they bore into me. She grabbed hold of my finger with her tiny hands and from that moment on, I swore to protect her. I still will.
But now it was time to leave, and I can't wait. Old Joey took my bags from my hands and loaded them into the trunk of his SUV.
My mom and Ri were looking at me from the front door; I could see tears falling from their eyes. It pained me more than anything my demons threw at me.
I bent down on one knee and opened my arms wide open, Ri ran as fast as Usain Bolt into my arms as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Don't leave me with them, please! Please, Av!" She cried harder.
"Shh, it will be alright. I'm not leaving you, not ever." I assured her. "I just have to go away for a little while; once I get enough money I will fly you and mommy out to live with me alright? But for now, I need you to stay strong. Can you do that for me?" I asked her softly looking into her eyes.
She nodded her head as I wiped away the stray tears that fell like cherry blossoms in spring. I called my mom over. She came over as I stood up and hugged her tightly like a little girl again.
"Protect her with your life, if anything happens, if they lay a finger on you or her. Call me. Because, if I find out that something happened and I wasn't notified I will be pissed." I hugged her tighter as she sobbed and nodded.
"Please, ma. Stay strong, for her, for you, and for me." I asked. She nodded, and we let go.
I looked down at Ri who was already staring at me, "Bitch."
"Jerk." She smirked. That little devil. What can I say? She takes after me.
I give them one last hug before I headed to Old Joey's car, Jen sat upfront and Aiden and Jaden were in back sleeping. I got in and looked out the window and waved goodbye to my mom and Ri.
I rolled down the window, "I love you guys. Remember that." I told them.
"We love you too." They replied with tears in their eyes but smiles on their lips.
And that was it.
We drove to the airport and went through customs and everything and after some waiting around, we boarded the plane. I got the window seat since I love seeing the ground beneath me. It makes me feel like I'm a giant compared to the ant-sized people on earth. It felt good.
Seattle, here I come. Better be prepared.
