- Kathrine -
"Kathrine. Kathrine. Wake up, dearest." A voice whispers in my ear and my eyes flutter open. Looking up I see the most handsome face I've ever seem. It just so happens that the handsome man was my rival. "I see you're awake." He smiles.
"Ugh, mornin' to you too." I sit up from the position I was laying on his chest. "What time is it?" I ask looking at window, light seeming through the blinds.
"Almost 6:49." He answers casually. I immediately stand up and run to my room. Shortly after Asher comes in while I look through my suitcases for an outfit. "What's the rush?"
"What's the rush? We're going to be late!" I shout out and grab a casual outfit.
"I was thinking you, me, Justin and Alice would skip today. You know, grab some coffee and chill." He says uneasy and unsure. Chill? So does he consistently forget that we're enemies?
"I can't do that, Asher. My studies are important to me."
"I see. Well, I guess I'll see you another day, then? Along with Alice I guess, that is if Justin and her don't hangout soon." Asher then walks out of my room leaving me sighing. Quickly, I put on the simple outfit and braid my hair. I look into my mirror at the desk. Decent.
I walk into the living room and find the place cleaned up with Asher and Justin gone leaving Alice on the couch.
"Wakey, wakey, Alice." I slightly push her. No responce. "Alice." I raise my voice slightly. No responce. Deciding to be a bitch I push her off of the couch.
"Damn it, Kathrine! What was that for?" She screams at me, rubbing her elbow and getting up.
I shrug. "It's almost time for school, Alice. You coming?"
"It's what," She looks at her phone. "6:54? Hell no. I'll just call in a sick day."
"You're skipping?" I ask surprised.
"Yeah, why is that such a shock? Today would be pointless to go now. Anyways, I'm not feeling so good. Mind staying home with me?" Alice offers. She had a good point. Knowing some of the teachers we'd probably get a tardy for being late. A tardy is not in my plans. I pick up my phone from the table and call the office.
"Hello, this is Alice Vane's mother." I speak. "Yes. I'm sorry to bother but it seems at though Kathrine and Alice won't be able to attend school today for they have come down with a terrible, terrible fever." Alice sits mouth open staring at me. "I know, I know. And it was so unexpected. Oh, I'll make sure. Thank you, have a good day." I press the 'end' button and smile.
"Omg, what did you just do?" Alice asks.
"Called in sick. Impersonating your mother, of course." I grin.
"Well you've changed." She laughs. "Ice cream and Reign?" I nod my head.
"Let me just change from my outfit. Then we can watch and talk about what happened last night." I wink and scurry off to my room. Putting on a pair of sweats and a flowey shirt I jump back onto the couch.
"So, did Asher do anything last night?" Alice asks while she finds our show.
"What, didn't have a minute to spare from Justin?" I question, laughing as she blushes. "I'm kidding, Alice. I didn't get many answers last night regarding the Vipers." Oh shoot, I forgot to tell the Ravens about the fight. They're going to kill me! Eh, I'll just tell them later I guess. Speaking of Ravens I need more re-cruets. I might need to go to the man Aunt Letrice suggested. James was it? Now that I think about it, wasn't Alice's father second in command? Looks like I'll need to do some more digging around my own gang. Back to the topic at hand!
"Justin didn't go on the topic of our two enemy gangs which I guess is pretty great. I didn't want to bring up the problems of the past..." She trails off. They must've been pretty serious, huh?
"You mean he was too busy staring into your eyes." I giggle. As usual when I bring Justin up, Alice turns as red as a tomato.
"Shut up! Asher and you were getting pretty cozy too." She wasn't wrong, entirely, that is.
"Okay, shut up about Asher now." We laugh. "Ugh, why can't I be Mary, meet Francis, and then we rule together forever?" I groan.
"Oh please, My Lady. If you're Mary then I'll be Elizbeth. We both know who wins in the end." She winks.
"Ugh, whatever. At least I find true love with Francis."
"And we both know what happens there." Alice points out.
"Okay, shut up now. You're ruining my imagination of happiness. Admit it though, everyone in Reign is pretty hot. Especially Francis."
"Can't go wrong there." We smile and watch the show. At the end of one episode I receive a text message from Asher.
Bad Boy: How's school?
Oh yeah, I never told him that I wasn't going. I didn't need to though, right? I mean, he shouldn't care unless he was planning to take me down sometime soon. Which now that I think about it, would be smart.
Me: I actually decided to stay home with Alice. Wyd?
Bad Boy: Oh, so you're still in the apartment? And nothing much. Justin and I are chilling around watching some football.
Me: Yeah. Alice and I are just watching a show of ours.
Bad Boy: Well then, carry on. I'll talk to you later?
Me: Sure. Bye, Bad Boy.
Bad Boy: (;
Alice and I continue to binge watch until the clock hits 3. "Alice, did you want to go somewhere to eat of order in?" I was starting to get hungry and I knew she was too due to the sounds coming from her stomach.
"We could always go out to somewhere. There's this awesome diner down the street we could go to if you want." She replies now texting furiously on her phone.
"Is that Justin?" I try and withhold a grin.
"For your information, it isn't. Just an older friend that moved away last year, Jay." She replies. Hmm, Jay? Interesting.
"Okay, well whoever it is quit texting and go get changed into something a bit more presentable. You haven't changed since last night." She nods and heads off. You know what? I'm so taking these things out and organizing them into the closet and drawers tonight. I grab a plain outfit and put it on, leaving my now-messy braid alone.
"Ready?" I ask Alice when she arrives to the living room. "Oh, and did you want to invite Jess?"
"Yeah, I'm ready. I'll text her and see." Grabbing her keys we exit the apartment and then the building to Alice's car. When we sit down Alice gets a reply. "She said lunch would be perfect. Let's go pick her up."
When Alice and I arrive at her place Jessica was found standing outside of the building waiting for us. "Hey!" She greets in joy. "Thanks for inviting me out of my boredom. Where are we going?"
"Alice says there's a good diner close to our apartment so I guess we'll go there." Jessica agrees on the amazing quality of the food. From her apartment to the diner Jessica and Alice chatted away about the new rumors that have been posted on social media in the past however many hours. While the guys were fine Jessica said she wasn't feeling that great to be going to school.
I guess that made all three of us be here today. Then again, who would rather go to school rather than be able to go to lunch with friends and chill all day?
