This was a shorter chapter guys. Sorry! I still haven't figured out an updating schedule so please be patient with me if you can. This chapter is probably not top quality but I did try and make it okay for now. Until the next chapter!Oh and by the way I'll be taking a break from the goals right now. I still really hope that you guys can raise the number of stars/Votes this book is getting as the number of reads goes higher as well.
Plus, new cover? Tell me what you think of it. I have another cover but I need to upload it. For now I think I'll keep this one but if you have any more cover ideas hit up with the ideas and the covers.

- Kathrine -
"Kathrine! Wakey, wakey!" A melodic voice whispers. I open my eyes to see my dear cousin hovering over me. "Good, you're awake." She exclaims.
"Ugh, what time is it?" I ask.
"About 6."
"Why wake me up so early?" I ask, slowly helping myself up to a sitting position and leaning on the headboard.
"Because I just received a text from Jess. The homecoming dance." She replies, not answering my question.
"What about it?"
"It's on Friday. They decided to move it up to our first Friday. Don't ask why, I don't know. Maybe they wanted to get it out of the way so the students could have no main distractions during the year but the important thing is we are definitely going." A dance? She's got to be kidding me but then again it might be fun. I've never been to a dance before so maybe Homecoming would be fun.
"Okay, we'll go. But why wake me up to tell me that?" I ask.
"I woke you up because we're meeting up with the gang at 7 instead of going to school right away. Seems like you forgot to tell us something very, very important." She stares at me and I knew why.
"Who? How?"
"Justin. We may have texted last night and we started going onto the topic of our two gangs. How could you not tell me about the agreement you and Asher made? And why did you even make it in the first place?" She shouted out, interrogating me in the process.
"Look, Alice. I made the deal in a rush of anger. Asher was being an ass and challenged our gangs. I stupidly agreed."
"Details?" Alice requested.
"In a month or so. Asher'll send me more information. All I know is that it's us versus the Vipers." Alice glared at me upon hearing this information while I smile sheepishly. "Will you excuse me so that I can get ready now?"
Alice exited my room and I let out a sigh. Dreading, I get ready for the horrifying meeting that is to come. Would they be mad? Would they want to leave the Ravens due to my poor choices? Ugh, what have I done?
"Ready?" Alice asks, bargaining into my room.
"Yeah, one sec." I reply, grabbing my phone and bag from the table. Alice and I walk through the apartment, down the hall, through the lobby, and to her car.
"We're meeting up in the football field. There's no gym for anyone 1st period so all of us will be alone." She states and powers the engine.
"The football field? Really?"
"What? You expect us to go to Starbucks? Oh hell no. No public places." I guess it's smart. We don't need anyone hearing about this.
Shorty, we arrive at the high school and make our way towards the football field. Apparently the football season is starting in a couple weeks so the field is empty. Jessica, Kyle and Cody await us sitting on the bleachers. Once they notice our presence glares are shot at me.
"Kathrine," Kyle begins. "Do you know what you've done? You've challenged the top gang in the state and possibly the country! Without the rest of the gangs permission, none the less." The rest nod their heads, agreeing with Kyle's statement.
"Look, guys. I understand I made a mistake,"
"A huge one." Jessica remarks.
"But, I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't going to fix this, Kat. We can't fight and beat the Vipers in a month." Cody states.
"Hold up, did you really just say that?" I ask, offended for everyone with my mouth open. "You say we can't beat the Vipers and take back our title?"
"It wasn't our title to begin with. It was our parents." Alice says.
"So then let's make it ours! The Vipers have always been behind the Ravens but it wasn't until they took the advantage of the last Raven leader's death as an opportunity to raise their status. We are Ravens. We are proud. We are strong. Together, we can do just about anything. We can beat them and take the title that our ancestors have earned. Come on, guys. Don't you want to wipe the smirk off of Asher and his gangs ' faces?" My gang stays silent for a few minutes but then Jess speaks up.
"We haven't been trained for this, Kat. Sure, we're pretty good fighters but what makes you think we can really take the top place on the leaderboard?"
"I've seen all of you fight. Jess, your tactics with the blade are just outstanding. Alice, your ability of being quick and agile is just what we need. Cody, your use of different weapons is pretty good and from what I've heard your an excellent hacker. Kyle, your focas and stealthy use of different weapons is awesome. Your tactics in the ring are amazing. All of you have what it takes to beat the Vipers so what's stopping you?"
"It's only us five. Asher has more than twenty guys backing him up when it comes to battle. We'd be outnumbered." Jess points out.
"So we'll train and get more members. I can handle the amount of fighters we will have but the four of you have to promise me that you won't give up." They all nod their heads.
"You know, this is why you're leader. You're just like your father, Kathrine. May he Rest In Peace." Kyle says and and they all begin to make their way across the field and to the school. Was I really capable of becoming like my parents? Strong, smart, and loved? Then again, if I were like my parents would I get killed? I need to find Liam and Julie and fast. I need to learn about who they've become in the past three years and what made them kill the ones I love. Eventually, they'll be punished.
What is that saying? What goes around comes around? That's right Liam and Julie. I'm coming for you. Watch out you two.

What'd you think of the chapter? I know it was pretty short and I'm sorry about that. I'll try to post a little more due to it being Winter Break for me but we'll see how everything goes. What would you want to happen next? I'm open to suggestions and if I really like it then I might incorporate the idea into my next chapter.
Toodles!
