CHAPTER 42

"Oh my dear-" I whispered but my hands covered up my mouth in a response to the shock. "Charlie, I need your help" Corey pleaded as she fell to the ground in tears, her face covered by her tangled hair. I quickly cut the distance between us and sat in front of her. I laid my hand on her shoulder in a supportive gesture.

"Corey, who did this to you and please no games" I told her in a stern yet soft voice.

"He's back Charlie, He's back and he's beyond furious" She whispered. I pushed past her hair to see her battered face. "Did you see him Corey?" I asked her tempting her to look into my eyes. "Yes, he got a few of his contacts inside to kidnap me and take me somewhere outside this town. He practically told me to kill you myself or bring you to him otherwise he'll kill him Charlie!" she chocked out as tears poured down her face.

I hugged her to try and stop her tears. "Okay, don't worry Corey. I'll figure something out, how long do you have?" I asked into her hair. "6 days before he sends me pictures of Casper's body." I sucked in a breathe. That didn't give us much time, which means I need to put my moves into action. But Casper? As in Blade's Casper?

"Who are his contacts? Are they close enough to suspect anything between us?" I let go of her starting to stand up. Her head tilted upwards to stare at me. 

"They'll know" she said.

I thought long and hard about what I was going to do, walking back forth in the room. Corey had finally calmed down and was seated on one of the school chairs slowly but surely fixing her makeup, I could see how much it hurt her to touch her face with all the brushes, brushes that were too soft to cause damage.

I could always just track him down and kill him before he makes his moves. Or I could skip town with my pack before he notices. I could fake my death and leave town. Or I could do the most sensible thing and join my pack and Eric's dad's together. Get my pack to teach them our ways and fighting methods while I make battle plans with the leaders, plus I can always track down the two sided idiots in Eric's pack with our gifts.

Okay, so I think my original plan from days ago is starting to fully take colour in my mind with a few differences. I'll have to inform my pack. Tell Eric, maybe. Go to the Alpha's and eat. Who am I kidding? I'm sure I can eat while doing all those things. So cross out eating and plan battles. Sounds about right.

"Corey, okay. From now on I need you to continue hanging around Eric. But it also needs to seem like your starting to get along with me with the clear intention to the contacts that your planning on killing or kidnapping me. Clear?" I asked her.

She nodded her head then continued apply lipstick, her eyes still watery. "Don't tell anyone. I mean anyone. Blade's contacts could be anyone and everyone around us, got it?" I asked again.

"Crystal" she replied packing her stuff into her bag, with rigid moves. "Plus, don't worry about your mate. Casper's fine. He'll be fine. I promise okay?" I told her.

"Okay" She looked into my eyes with her single word spoken. The relief was so present that she visibly looked a year younger.

"I'll see you later Alright? I need to get home and collect somethings" I told her. She waved goodbye at me as I left the room behind.

I checked the hallway which was deserted. All students were in period 2, meaning I couldn't get caught. I quickly walked along the locker walls towards the front door so I could get to my car. As I reached the door the memory of Eric driving me here in his car crushed all my plans. Well not unless I snatch his keys from his precious car.

New motive: get to Eric's English class, ask for a quick hug. Sneakily grab his car keys in his jackets pocket then leave. This message is going to self distruct in 5, 4, 3 ,2, 1 BOOM. Serious Charlie, can't stray from the plan. Wait, no Charlie. Don't do it. Don't think about that ninja movie, don't copy their moves in the corridor. Don't roll on the floor Charlie! Okay that was actually pretty awesome. One more wouldn't hurt anyone. Perfect landing.
