Chapter Two

I and Kyle head straight to our first class which if I might say is the worst way to start my school year

Kyle pulled me aside before I could enter
"Hey sis peep this, I know we're related and all but I don't want your dork stench blocking my vibes"

I rolled my eyes and assured him that I wouldn't block his "vibe" or whatever it is before heading for my class in order not to be tardy, on my way I bumped into someone but the person never noticed but that didn't prevent me from being courteous

and excusing myself then the person turned round and stared at me like I was a monkey that escaped it's cage "You must be new here" she said as she furrowed her eyebrows at me "You got that from excuse me? " I asked astonished at her quick study on me but I shrugged it off "So hey welcome to the pit of despair called  Lincoln Park prep school, something something" she mumbled the last sentence

I was about to say something but I just opened and closed my mouth but then my phone began to vibrate and saw it was mama she said that she wouldn't be able to pick from school so I was on my

own because Kyle would hitch a ride with one of his friends that he made along while ago, I was the last to go to school due to the fact I was home schooled by our late dad, rest his soul, the girl I had previously bumped into was snapping her fingers at me in order for me to come back to reality "Seems you've got a problem"

"Uhm uh ya kinda" "Need help?" I winced at the thought of going home with a stranger "I barely know you" I simply explained as I opened my locker and took out my text book "Well for starters I'm Raven"she smiled as she extended her hand and I shook it before the warning bell went off "Well I'd better go to class so that I won't be late" I said glancing at my watch "What are you having" she

asked as she removed the bangs covering her eyes which were a brilliant shade of black and grey, "English" I shrugged "Weird"she said "What?"

"So am I" she said smiling at me before hooking her arm in mine before leading me down the hall past a group of guys I recognised, within the next few hours

I was praying for school to be over so I could catch
Lizzie McGuire and Malcolm In The Middle before my idiot brothers got home before me. "Hey why do you wanna go home so badly, are you avoiding someone?" Mrs Peters asked me clearly seeing how flustered I was I simply explained that I wanted to

catch my TV program before my brothers got home but she simply snorted and said that there was something wrong with me, but knowing my family

she should have guessed but since people only saw the 'rosy' side of my family I didn't blame her, later on I caught up with Raven who kindly offered me a ride home, she said that her cousin was to busy hanging out with his friends to drop her or pick her up

so her best friend was taking us home which

I might say is mean to leave someone hanging like that, then I realized something I knew Raven and her cousin after I saw Penelope heading towards us and giving Raven a weird hand shake

"Hey Kehlani watsup" she said as we hugged each other like we hadn't seen each since forever which it was "So how's Kyle and the others?" she asked knowing the answer she was getting "Annoying as always, how's your brother?"

I asked carefully in order not to say his name "His fine, look James is not Voldmorte so you can say his name out loud "Ya buh I don't wanna" I shrugged

"Well have it your way I wanna hit the arcade, you should come Kehlani" Raven said making herself comfortable in the passengers seat "Nah" I declined

Because I didn't need an electronic war craft because I was gonna face one when I got home
