a Little at a Time

White Light

Before I start the story I just want to tell you I am gonna get really dramatic with this chapter. just wanted to let you know and I hope you enjoy.

"The Flu!" I yelled "you told me she could die and she has the flu!" I was furious.

" ma'am, don't get mad, I'm not trying to scare you ,but the flu has been known to kill children of young age like yours....and well... it looks like your kid got one of the bad strands of the flu virus." he said still calm I might add.

"So...so...she might......die!" I said starting to cry. I couldn't handle this my baby might die.

"ma'am I know this is hard for you ,but I need to know if she is allergic to any medication" he asked. "No....no she is not." I said still crying.

"thank you ma'am we are going to take good care of your child, she will be fine" he said. When he walked away I was so tired I blacked out again.

"ma'am....ma'am wake up." the doctor was here again. oh no is something wrong with Clarisse. "wha....what is there something wrong."

"no ma'am" he said "she did flatline once and we almost lost her ,but she is fine now and she is awake and has requested to see you."

The doctor helped me up and took me to Clarisse' s room. When we walked throughout the door I heard "MOMMY!" I looked ND saw Clarisse hooked up to so many wires it almost made me cry. "Hey baby, how are you doing."

"I am feewin better" she said. she has a slur that is so cute.

"that's good baby, I'm glad." I said sitting on the bed next to her. She is still so small I can fit in the bed with her.

"Hey mommy?" she said with this weird look in her eye. "yes, baby." I said curious "when I was sleeping I saw a white wight, it was really pretty.....but I wanted my mommy so I left." she said happy as ever. O my gosh that was the saddest and sweetest thing I have ever heard it almost made me cry.

"you know what baby." I said "what mommy?" she asked curious. "I am gonna take you out to Chuck-E-Cheese and then we are going to go get some of your favorite ice cream, cookies and cream." I said waiting for her reaction. "weally! yay tank you mommy tank you, tank you, tank you!"

After an hour the doctor finally came in with the discharge papers. I signed them and we were on our way.

When we got home after Chuck-E-Cheese and ice cream I got Clarisse some pajamas and put them on her. I went to go put her in bed and she begged if she could sleep with me tonight. I said yes, it was a pretty good idea to keep her near me in case her fever spiked again.

When we were settled in bed Clarisse said she had something to tell me. "Hey mommy?" she asked "yes, baby?"

"I wuv you!"
