Chapter 6 – Reyna

I was stuck in the back of a flying chariot with an idiot. A very easily distracted idiot, who kept fiddling with something or the other. And when he wasn't, he was coming up with the most annoying of statements to 'keep us occupied.'

"That frown makes you look rather unflattering." The git said now, attempting a terrible British accent.

I rolled my eyes, "Your British accent is very unflattering." I deadpanned.

"Vould you preferr ai Irish accent?" He asked, obviously not giving up.

"What I would like is for you to stop talking." I said, glaring.

"Again with the glare? Turn that frown upside down." He hollered.

"Keep quiet!" I hissed, "Someone will hear you."

He had the nerve to roll his eyes at me, "Yeah, probably a pigeon." He said, and I could hear the clear hints of sarcasm in his voice.

"Or a goose." Percy called out from the front of the chariot, "Or a Pegasus." He added after a second thought.

I rolled my eyes, "Were you eavesdropping?"

"I'm sorry if this chariot doesn't have a private chamber with soundproof walls for you, Miss Cranky. Would you like a refund?" Annabeth said, rather scarily from the front.

Well, I had woken up this morning with no recollection of who I am, or where I came from. And then some weird hyperactive guy came barging into my room, demanding to know when someone called Piper went, and then two other crazy teens come and tell me that one of the parents is a Greek God, and I have a tattoo confirming my alliance to Rome.

Excuse me if I was cranky.

"Well, you should take a nap." Leo tells me, bringing me out of my thoughts, "Helps cranky people."

I scowl, "Will you not call me that?"

"Do you ever laugh πριγκίπισσα? He says, looking at me.

"What did you call me?" I ask, bewildered, hearing him say something along the lines of 'prigkipissa'. Was it his horrible way of saying I was pissing him off?

"Wait," Annabeth said before Leo could answer, "Don't you understand it? Can't you translate it in your head?" She demanded.

I blinked at her, "Is that a trick question?"

"How-" Annabeth starts arguing but Percy puts an arm on her shoulder, "Calm down Annabeth, she might just be a late learner."

For some reason, that statement annoyed me, "I am not a late learner. If anyone's a late learner, it's you for calling me a late learner." I huffed.

Okay, I admit, my comeback sucked.

Everyone just blinked at me for a minute, and then Percy looked at Annabeth, "She's going to be a handful, isn't she."

Annabeth let out an angry sigh, "Most definitely."

Excuse me? Were they talking about me in that manner? Me? Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano?

Wait a minute.

"Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano." I blurt out.

Now everyone looks like they think I'm crazy.

"What…?" Leo starts to say but I cut him off. "That's my full name."

He whistles, "Sure is a handful."

I glared at him, "Is everything about me a handful?"

"Your name sounds very royal." Annabeth said, "Mexican, most definitely."

I nod, trying not to look too eager. "Maybe if I can focus, I can remember something else too."

With that, I close my eyes and block out all the people around me.

At first I feel nothing, but then, as I slowly drift off, I feel like I'm sucked into something.

"Reyna, my daughter, open your eyes."

I slowly open my eyes, taking in the dark haired beauty in front of me. She's dressed in battle-gear and she strongly resembled me.

"Mother?" I whispered, and am ashamed at how weak my voice is.

"Reyna," The woman, it's too soon to call her mother, smiled, "My beautiful strong daughter. Look how far you've come."

"Who are you?" I can't help but question, because I am genuinely curious to know."

She scoffed, "I forgot about Hera's silly trick. I am Bellona, of course, Roman goddess of Battle."

I blinked, "Roman?"

"Why yes, dear. A hundred percent Roman." She said, sounding very proud of herself.

"But-But what am I doing with Greeks then?" I stammered.

Bellona rolled her eyes, "I can't tell you, just know that you plan an important part. The peace of our world lies in the hands of you and young Piper McLean." She said, rather distastefully.

"I can't say I'm a fan of the idea," She continued, "But I suppose that there's a slim chance of it working, and you surviving."

Wait what? I open my mouth to question but she cuts me off, "Our time's up, daughter. Just remember, sometimes a change could do us good."

And then I'm awake. The chariot is lurching and Percy is trying to get the horses back in control.

"What's going on?" I yell.

"We're going to crash."

Thank you for all the votes and comments, guys! It means the world to me! Thank you!
