My eyes flew open to the sound of vomiting down the hall. I looked at the clock. 5:46am it read. The moon was still out. I must've only been asleep for about a half-an-hour.

"What the fuck?" I said to myself. I crawled out of bed and walked out of my room. I walked into the bathroom where Erik was sprawled out on the floor, covered in puke.

"Ick," I mumbled, covering my mouth, trying not to gag and get sick too.

"Erik, what happened?" I said, not removing my hands of my mouth.

"I...s-s-s...sold out," he replied, puking into the toilet once more. My heart felt as if a ten-ton boulder came crashing down on it.

"Why?" I thought aloud, my voice starting to get shaky.

"I don't know. Peer pressure. It was tempting," he said, puking again.

"What did you sell out to?" I asked curiously.

"Uhm...weed...rum...cocaine...I'm so sorry, Abby," he finished with his head back in the toilet to puke once more.

He turned his face toward me, trying to focus his vision. I could tell he couldn't even see me. His eyes were bloodshot red, rolling around in their sockets. His breath reeked of liquor and vomit, and his skin was chalky and pale. My heart kept sinking more and more every time I'd look at him.

"Erik, you need to go to sleep. How did you even get back home? You can't even stand up!" I stated.

"Matt and James carried me," he slurred.

"Ugh, get up," I said, pulling him by his arms and dragging him into his room.

It took me a good five minutes to get him in there and on his bed. I quickly ran into the bathroom and grabbed the mop bucket, and placed a garbage bag in it for him to puke in. I thought it was a pretty smart idea. I opened his window for him (I figured he could use the fresh air), but wrapped him in his blankets so he wouldn't be cold. He quickly fell asleep. I watched over him for the next few minutes making sure he wouldn't get up again, until I decided he was out for the rest of the night. I soon heard footsteps coming down the hall. I tossed the bucket aside so it wouldn't be suspicious, just in case it was my Aunt. It was only Benny.

"What the fuck... is going on?" he asked, unaware and half asleep. "What's wrong with Erik?"

I scratched my head and put the bucket back in place, "I'll let him tell you later. Lets go back to sleep," I replied. He shrugged, and followed commands.

We went back to my room, and fell in our original sleeping areas. Benny was fast asleep. I, on the other-hand, couldn't sleep at all just thinking about what Erik had done. Erik had claimed Straight-Edge for several years and for him to just go and sell out in his beliefs out of nowhere was just horrifying to me. Especially the way he did it. I couldn't get it off my mind at all.

My mind finally decided to take a break and rest, making me quickly fall asleep.
