Cora

I spent the rest of my weekend avoiding thinking about either Mateo or Zino. By Monday morning, I decided that I should stay away from both of them no matter how I feel for them or how good looking they both are, how Mateo makes me soft inside and Zino makes jokes. It's all a mess and I should really stay clear of it all.

At lunch I'm at my table trying not to look up at Mateo who is staring my way.

Before biology, class Zino comes up to me at my locker. He drags his hand through his black hair peering at me. Looking way too hot for me not to stare at him.

"I'm really sorry for what happened. Mateo is lying, you know. Please let me make it up to you after school."

I try to ignore him, but it seems he really means it and heck, I can't hold a grudge against him when he looks like a puppy dog.

"Okay..."

Zino flashes a winning smile my way.

Zino

When school's out for the day I meet up with Cora.

"Ready to go?" I ask her.

"Sure."

I put my arm around her shoulders as we walk out of school. I know the word will get around so Mateo will know we're on a date and that Cora has forgiven me.

Cora

Zino tells me that Mateo only wants to mess with me and that he is a "love 'em leave 'em" kind of a guy. I don't know what to think about that. It almost seems like they are competing, which is so stupid. I like both of them but the way they have acted the last couple of days doesn't really instill my trust in either of them. Anyway, I have a great time with Zino and as he comes up to my house and helps me out of the car I let him kiss my cheek.
