Bella
My head was all over the place, literally. I could still feel the thumping melody where I hit it off the counter yesterday night on my way down.
I told you I was a jinx.
I didn't notice how slow I was actually walking; getting distracted by my mind questioning itself about something else. Something bigger.
I thought back to last night when in an instant the mood changed. You could hear the sound of a pin dropping, slicing through the thick air.
I was trying to figure out what happened; trying to put two and two together, but, all I created was a bunch of numbers.
The boys didn't feel awkward though. You could see the heat travelling to the surface of James' skin, but, even then the boys seemed calm, almost relaxed.
Without saying anything, they all walked out of the kitchen, leaving me standing in my own mess of flour.
I could hear raised voices which were contrasted with calm voices, although I still couldn't make out the words that were said.
My mind was like a firework on the verge of exploding. There were thoughts flying about everywhere, colliding with one another and th-
"Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there" I coughed, hoping I wouldn't create an awkward scene.
The figure turned around, revealing a tall blonde girl, she was stunning.
"It's fine" she smiled. "I've never seen you around here before, are you new?"
"Yeah, I'm a newbie to the town and to this school" I gestured towards the large building towering over us.
The girl smiled, a pretty smile.
"Don't worry, at least you have one friend. Come on, I'll take you to the main office".
I let out a sigh of relief, knowing I didn't have to go through the dreaded moment of figuring my way around this maze.
We stepped inside the main school doors and it almost turned into a jungle. There were people roaring, growling, sprinting; they were like animals. We walked down a never ending corridor, passing classrooms and students in all shape and size. I was beginning to relax as me and blondie arrived at a door midway down the corridor. It had a plaque on it which read 'Barbra Renalds, school administrator', I immediatly perked up, first imperssions were very important.
Blondie knocked, a very gentle knock, like she had hardly tapped the door. It was with such delicasy that even I had to strain to hear it and I was standing a few inches away from her. We stood there for a few seconds before I knocked again with a bit more force, hoping I didn't offend my first new friend.
"Come in" someone called from behind the door. I slowly twisted it open and stepped inside to a fairly big room. There, sat right in the centre was who I'm guessing was Mrs Renalds.
She looked up from her desk and pushed her glasses up from their original position on her nose. The corners of her mouth tilted to a smile,
"Hello, sweety" her voice was soft and welcoming.
"H-h-hi" I stuttered, the nerves taking over me.
"Nothing to worry about my dear, sit down" she gestured to the seat opposite her on the other side of the desk. I sat down without hesitation, noticing blondie was gone.
"So, what's your name?"
"Bella, Bella Rose"
"That's a beautiful name" she smiled. "And, you're a Junior, yes?"
