Preliminaries

(Tsuki POV)

("Five days later and more tests whoop woo!") I looked around and spotted the rookie three Kabuto, Gai's team and the sand ninja. ("Good to know all the impressive ones passed. ")("Tsuki there is an ominous chakra coming from the Uchiha.") I thought for a moment ("Yeah now that you mention it, good point out Kanashimi.") Then Hokage announced "First before I tell you hat the third exam entails, I ant to explain something about the test itself. Listen up this is something all of you need to understand. I'm going to tell you the true purpose of these exams. Why do you suppose that we hold this event with conjunction with our allies? To raise the ability levels of the shinobi and to increase friend ship with allied nations to be sure. But its important you understand its true meaning the exams are so to speak... there are representation of the battles between allied nations! Now if we look at our history we are surrounded by neighbouring nations that continuously fought against each other for power in order to avoid destroying each others military strength meaninglessly those nations picked champions that would do battle at a mutually disclosed location and that is how the Chuunin selection exams originally began. This is a battle against different villages!" Then a Jonin jumped down and started explaining the rules "It's nice to meet you all, there is something I would like all of you to know. This is a preliminary exam the first and second exams might have been to easy so there are too many of you and according to the rules a preliminary exam can be held at any stage in order to reduce the number of candidates remaining. The preliminary's will start now so if anyone wants to bow out now is the time... Oh yeah the winners of the test will be decided by sudden combat one on one." Then Kabuto put his hand n the air "Ok, you got me I'm out." The proctor went though a few papers "Kabuto Yakushi of the leaf village right, Ok you can go on and step back." Then Naruto and Kabuto had a debate but I wasn't all that bothered. "Any one else want to quit?.. Alright then we will now begin the preliminary rounds this round will consist of one on one full battle intensity. This is not an exercise there are twenty-one of you remaining so that means one of you will have to battle twice since Tsuki came first in both exams that will be you. The surviving candidates will advance to the third exam and as for rules there are none you will fight until either one is dead, concedes defeat or incapacitated. The names of each pairs of opponents are chosen completely at random. In a moment the names of the first two opponents will appear." ("Two matches that's not fair but hey what can you do and it looks like its Sasuke and Yoroi my bet is on Sasuke.") We then all headed to the upper level I went over to Kakashi " Hey Kakashi wake me when its my or Tenten's turn.. Ok?" He eye smiled and in a flirty tone he said "Ohh Tsuki you got yourself a crush?" I tried not to blush "N-no!" I then found a spot on the floor and fell to sleep.

(Time skip)

Kakashi woke me up and pointed to the monitor it read Tsuki Jaeger vs Sakura Haruno I looked at her and smiled after walking down to the place we would do battle she looked frightened out of her mind "Hey Sakura don't start failing on me now you have got his far." She nodded then the proctor spoke "Fourth round Begin!" I walked and then bowed she did the same and spoke "Tsuki come at me with everything you got!" ("She is a brave little girl.") I ran at her then appeared to her left with a teleport she read my movements though and dodged she ran to the other side of the room "Yes Sakura you were the first person ever able to dodge that move but can you dodge my Water whip justu!" A massive water whip materialised at my right arm I whipped to her side she dodged but I wasn't aiming for her my whip was in the wall next to her I pulled on it and that pulled me to her at sonic speeds she didn't have time to react when I hit her head against the wall using my motion to increase the attacks ferocity. I knocked her out instantly "Well done Sakura." The proctor exclaimed "Tsuki Jaeger wins!" I picked up Sakura and carried her to the balcony me and Kakashi were watching from. "Lets see who's next ehh." The names Tenten and Temari came up I shouted over to Tenten "Good luck Tenten!" she blushed lightly The proctor spoke "For the fifth match Tenten, Temari get ready... Begin!" Tenten jumped back almost instantly ("Wow Tenten has determined her position perfectly she is ready to attack or defend.") Temari started to irritate Tenten so she attacked by throwing some shuriken and she missed no ("That was a wind justu used so quickly wow she is good. But Tenten has lost.") Tenten started to run circles around Temari the she pulled out a scroll and did a dance mid-air summoning weapons and throwing them at impossible speeds yet none of them hit ("You know Tsuki you do need a girlfriend entire one of those will be good enough for my standards.") ("What? NO! Pay attention to the match.") Then Tenten pulled out two scrolls from behind her, she placed them both on the ground next to her and yelled "Rising twin dragons!" Suddenly tons of summoning smoke appeared along with a massive gust of wind. She jumped ten feet in the air then started making it rain with weapons. Once again it did not work "I'm not done!" That's when I noticed all the ninja wire on the weapons  they all started to float she attacked Temari again with no avail that's when Temari started to taunt her this really ticked me off. "Moon number three." Temari jumped behind her fan and disappeared. "Over here!" She called Temari was riding her fan right over Tenten's head. "Now it's my turn.. WIND SYTHE JUSTSU!!" The sudden gust of wind sent Tenten flying and knocked her out. It rapidly cut her body all over she was screaming though she was knocked out. The vortex stopped and she began to fall Temari put her fan out expecting Tenten to land on it but I grabbed her just as she was about to hit it and slowly laid down her unconscious body. "Tsuki Jaeger what are you doing interfering with the match!?" ("Kanashimi I might need some chakra for intimidation.") I felt it enter my body in a burst "No!" I shouted the dense chakra I was giving off was enough to make the proctor fall to one knee "The match is over!" I yelled again I picked up Tenten and started to run to the infirmary.

(Time skip Tenten's POV)

When I woke up I saw Tsuki was asleep next to my bed on the infirmary ("He's cute when he is asleep.") I looked at the clock on the wall ("It's five PM how long has Tsuki been here he must of missed his second match.") "Tenten! Overhear." I looked to my left and saw Sakura Haruno "Hi Sakura what happened?" She frowned "After I woke up I was brought here because of a dislocated arm and from what Tsuki tells me you lost but you put up a great fight." I smiled and looked over to him "How long has he been here?" Sakura giggled "He never left your side he was waiting for you to wake up but he fell asleep half an hour before you woke up." As I looked over to him he started to wake up ("Speak of the devil.") After another fifteen minutes of him being in the state between sleep and consciousness I grave him a little prod "Tenten!" ("Took your time.") "Hi Tsuki." I smiled softly ("He's blushing.. cute.") "Are you ok Tenten?" I frowned "Apart from the defeat I'm fine but how about you? You missed your second match for the preliminaries." He gave me a cute chuckle "I don't care for this year there is always next year plus I won one match so I will go through to the final stage don't worry." He got up to leave "Well I have to be going now." I called out "N-no stay please." He smiled "Ok but where will I sleep?" I blushed "Y-y-you could use m-my lap as pillow." He turned as red as a tomato I patted my lap "I'm being serious." He walked over and placed his head on my lap and was out in five minutes I was about to go to sleep when I realised that Sakura was still in the room she was about to pass out when she asked "How did you get Tsuki to be so uhh loving to you?" I blushed whilst I looked at his head on my lap "You think he is loving?" She smirked "Yeh when ever I try to do something like that with Sasuke he always gives me the cold shoulder." Placing my head on the pillow I said "I have no idea."
