Aelia's POV
I walk into the school gates, feeling happy for some reason. I inhale the fresh air before exhaling. I have this feeling something big is going to happen.
"Good morning, Lia!" Seungkwan walks up to me and links arms with me.
"Good morning, Kwanie. How're you?" I ask.
He blinks in surprise but smiles anyways.
"I'm good! Soonyoung got you hot tea. He said he'll meet you outside your class when the bell rings."
"Okay. Thanks."
He waves me off before I feel someone try to jump on my back. Groaning in pain, I look back to see Mingyu laughing.
"Hey, Aelz!" He slings an arm around my shoulders, embracing me.
"Hi, Mingyu. Did you just get here?"
"Yup. I just ran into lover boy." He rolls his eyes.
"Oh. Minghao? I've always known he liked you." I smirk.
He starts choking on his saliva, making me laugh.
The bell rings and I wipe away my tears from laughing so hard. Mingyu calms down and looks at me.
"Want me to walk you to class?" He asks.
"You don't have to-"
"Okay I will." He grabs my hand and pulls me to the stairs.
I groan but let him pull me to class. I see Jihoon as we walk through the halls, his eyes lighting up when he sees us.
"Oh! Aelia-" he starts but he's cut off.
"Sorry! She can't be late for class. She loves this class." Mingyu smiles at him before pulling me again.
We arrive at my class and I see Soonyoung standing outside it with a giant smile across his face. He goes up and down on his tiptoes in excitement and holds out a cup to me.
"Hi, Aelia! Hi, Mingyu!" He smiles cutely.
"Thanks, Soonyoungie. You didn't have to get it for me."
"But I wanted to. Can't I do something nice for you once in a while?" He pouts.
"Of course, Soon." I pat his head, "I'll see you both at lunch."
I walk into my violin class and sit in my favorite seat. Even if I'm late, the seat is always open. Everybody lets me have the chair because our teacher wanted me to be comfortable (aka she wanted me in the front).
I don't like being in the front cause you're closer to the teacher and you're more likely to be called on. That's not my thing but because my teacher likes me, she always calls on me.
The bells rings and she starts the lesson. We're doing what the teacher says but I hear a few in the middle section doing the wrong notes. I close one eye, scrunching my nose. Wow... That's all I gotta say.
"No! That's not it! Miss Choi!" She waves for me to go to the front.
I sigh and nod. Standing up, my feet glide to the front of the room where she is and raise my violin to my chin. I start playing the piece we're assigned, many gaping in awe. I look at my teacher quickly to see she's telling me to move on further. I continue playing until I finish the song.
Once I hit the last note, I set my violin at my side as the class claps. I bow before quickly running back to my seat.
"Now that is how you play a classic George Sand piece!" She applauds.
She continues on with the lesson, going over the wrong notes and what to actually do.
All of a sudden, the door bursts open to reveal the orchestra teacher from down the hall. We all turn to look at her, wondering why she looks so panicked.
"I need your help!" She quickly walks up to my teacher.
"What's wrong?" Our teacher looks concerned.
"My solo violinist went to the hospital for surgery. But the show must go on!"
"She sounds like the theater teacher." Someone next to me mumbles, making me smirk.
"Can one of your best violinists take his part? The other violinists I have aren't good enough to take the solo." She looks around at all of us, scanning us with a judging expression.
Her eyes land on me and she points to me. She rushes up to me with a big smile and I blink.
"You're Choi Aelia, yes?"
"Yes..." I raise an eyebrow.
"I've heard so many good things about you! I want you as the soloist."
"O-oh. I-"
"Please!"
"S-sure."
"You just saved me!"
"I don't have to dance or anything, right?" I laugh nervously.
She starts laughing, hitting my arm in a friendly manner. I look at the person next to me, silently asking if this is real and he shrugs.
"Come by later for the music sheets!" She quickly walks out of the room.
I scrunch my eyebrows together, blinking in confusion. What the heck just happened?~
"Wow! Congratulations, Aelia!" Chan smiles big.
"Thank you. I will celebrate with this pie." I'm about to bite into the fork when Mingyu reaches over and redirects the fork to his mouth, eating it. I stare at him with a puppy dog expression and he smiles innocently.
"M-my pie!" I pout.
"Let me feed you then." He gets a new piece and holds up the fork to my mouth.
My face lights up and I'm about to bite it when he swerves it to his mouth.
"Mingyu!" I glare at him.
"I'm kidding! This time for real I'll feed you."
He sticks to his word and I hum in delight.
"That's some good pie." I give a thumbs up.
"Can I try some?" Wonwoo hovers over her.
"Yeah." I hand him the fork with a piece of the pie on it.
"Mmm." He licks his lips, "That is good."
"No more sharing! It's my pie!" I stuff my mouth with a bigger piece.
"When's the concert?" Joshua asks.
"Three weeks. I don't have much time. That's why I'm relaxing today. From now on, I will be practicing as much as I can until I perform." I pledge.
"Just don't tire yourself out, Aelz." Minghao frowns at me.
"I know my limits, HaoHao. I'll be fine." I wave him off.
"I'll bring you tea every morning then like I did today, okay?" Soonyoung smiles at me.
"Thank you." I smile, "That'd be nice."
"Alright! Then to Aelia getting this big opportunity!" Seungkwan raises his cup of boba.
"To Aelia! Fighting!" They all cheer, smiling and laughing before we all click together our drinks.
"Thanks! I'll do my best!" I bow to them, smiling.
My eyes catch a certain someone's who makes my heart beat faster. Jihoon smiles at me and gives me a thumbs up, making my cheeks turn pink.
I can do this. I can make everyone proud again.
