Wesker looked down at Katlin just as the earth shook so violently it began to crack and rip apart. Katlin yelled and cried out as the earthquake grew larger, stronger and more powerful. Wesker hugged Katlin not knowing how else to calm her down. It felt so weird to him but if she didn't stop this somehow then the world would crumble and break in on itself.
"Shh Shh, it's alright calm down. You need to look at me and listen," Wesker said; as he held Katlin's cheeks, making her look at him.
"My family, they-they could be dead! It's all my fault! I should have never trusted John! I should've just left when I had the chance!" Katlin yelled, at Wesker, as tears ran down her face and her heart felt like it was breaking apart from the inside out.
Wesker held her closer to his face. "Look at me, WE need to get out of here and YOU need to calm down. Your family could have gotten out," Wesker said, as he still held Katlin's face.
Wesker thought to himself, "How was he being so caring? He usually isn't so nice to people. Why was he acting like this?" Wesker would have to figure it out later. Katlin calmed down and the earthquake had stopped. She moved away from Wesker and looked out to the ruins of her once-beautiful home, now nothing more then a wasteland with nothing alive in it anymore.
Katlin held herself and started crying softly. "John, your going to pay," Katlin thought to herself.   All the while, Katlin was viewing her home, destroyed and lifeless.  Wesker looked around for his motorcycle, but when his glaze found it, it was broken and laying on the ground in pieces.  "Probably from the earthquake," Wesker thought to himself as a dreadful sign escaped his mouth.

The rumble from the cave in started to move the rocks. Chris, Jill, and their teams are starting to break free from the rocks that fell minutes ago. Chris is glad that no one got hurt from this rock slide. He is still angry from losing Paul in the last earthquake before this one.
Wesker looked to Katlin who was still frozen in anger, sadness, and other mixed emotions. He would do something he hasn't done in years. He ran to her with supernatural speed, picked her up bridal style, and leaped over the couple of dead trees with her in his arms. Katlin was shocked and surprised at his actions.
Chris happened to look over as Wesker's and Katlin's forms were disappearing in the distance.  Chris knew he couldn't catch up on foot to Wesker. With that knowledge, he became even angrier; as he's still grieving over Paul's death. Jill saw the anger in her partners eyes. She walked over to him as if she was walking up to a wild animal. Jill put her hands on both of his cheeks then spoke to him after he had calmed down from her sweet touch. "Chris, you need to calm down and call in the B.S.A.A. They could send another truck here. How far do you think Wesker would go on foot?" Jill said, as she let go of Chris's face. Chris knew Jill was right.  He calmed down and called the B.S.A.A. for a pick up. Jill was one of the few only people that could calm him down whenever he was angry like that.

Wesker was actually getting tired of running.  He had to keep going though, to make it to the nearby inn.  This inn was for the tourists coming and going; tucked away on the far outskirts of the ruins of Raccoon City. Wesker finally made it with Katlin in his arms.  He let her down gently as her boots hit the ground.   She walked away from him for a second.  She started joyfully dancing around. Wesker didn't know what was going on.  Wesker looked over at Katlin confused as to why she was so overjoyed, when just moments ago she was upset and angry.  Also why was he being so gentle with her? If this was happening with anyone else, he would just let them fall down on their butt and leave them behind.  Katlin took notice of the look Wesker was giving her.   She then spoke to him while walking closer. "Me and my family would come here sometimes and have a family day out.  I'm so happy at least, this place survived," Katlin said, overjoyed as she remembered her family's get together.  Something about that look she was giving him made him smile.  Wait, he was smiling?  How could that be? He quickly changed his expression and went inside the inn without a word.  Katlin soon followed him and looked at the owner of the inn.  It wasn't the person she thought it was. She knew the old innkeeper, who was a older man in his fifties with grayish hair. The man behind the counter wasn't the man she knew before.   He was middle age and had a tattoo on his right side of his neck.  A tattoo of what she couldn't tell at the time.  "I would like two rooms, joined together by a door.  Also let us have your dinner special," Wesker said to the man.  Katlin was wandering off for some reason. Wesker noticed and walked behind her slowly. Katlin saw something that overcame her with joy. A picture of her family and friends all lined up in a row.  The old owner would take pictures of all who came to his inn.  Katlin smiled.  Soon the darkness was leaving her, as she was finally able to relax.  She was remembering her family and the day they took that picture. Well until...Wesker had scared her by slightly, touching her shoulder. She looked at him surprised as he was extremely close to her face.   "Excuse me your rooms are ready," the innkeeper said, from across the room.  Wesker left his gaze off of her, then went to grab the keys from the man.  As he left towards the rooms, Katlin followed him, when they met at their room doors. Wesker handed her the key to her bedroom, as he stepped inside his room. Katlin opened the door and saw that her food was sitting on the table.  The steam from her food was rising, ready for her to eat. After she ate it, she then realized she was still covered in dirt and dried blood from before. She took off her clothes and jumped into the shower. The hot water felt great to her as she washed all the dirt and blood away.  Wesker was also taking a shower, also trying to clear his head.  Why was he being so nice to her? he thought.  Sure she was special, but only because of her powers. Wesker's thoughts were overwhelming him; so much that he started to lose his balance and he had to put his hands onto the wall for support. Wesker stood there with the hot water running down his body. His eyes were their normal color. As he just stared at the hot water falling down onto him.
