Laughing out loud she had punched his shoulder. He just grinned as a response.
"Hey Gabe," a friendly, yet tough looking man walked onto the porch of the house, "this the girl you've been talking 'bout?"
"Oh hey dad," he smiled, "yes it is, this is-."
Before he got the chance to introduce her she had walked up to his father and held out her hand, "My name's Naomi Davis," she said boldly.
"I'm Billy Brown," he said as he shook her hand, "it's a pleasure to meet the girl my son has been talking about nearly every day."
"Dad..." Gabe grunted, feeling embarrassed.
"You live in such a beautiful place," she smiled, "to be able to accomplish this you must have a great family here."
"Thank you," he smiled, "yes it's beautiful indeed. And I've got five strong boys and two tough girls after all."
"That's um," she looked amazed, "quite the family."
Billy laughed and nodded, "You could say so, yes."
Naomi turned towards Gabe, "So... five brothers hmm," she said, "that means you still have people to introduce me to. Oh! Not to mention your mother, we can't forget her either. I haven't even asked if I'm welcome yet too..."
She rambled on and Billy couldn't help but laugh at the bluntness of the girl, "You're welcome alright. I think my wife Ami will like you as well."
Naomi smiled gladly, "It's great to be hearing that."
"Yea," Gabe grabbed her shoulder and lead her on, afraid his dad might embarrass him a bit more, "let's meet the others."
Gabe led her towards the front door and opened it for her like a gentleman. She smiled, "Pardon the intrusion," she said upon entering.
A friendly looking woman quickly greeted her, "Oh, you must be Naomi! My name is Ami."
She smiled at Naomi, who couldn't help smiling back, "I am indeed, nice to meet you. It almost seems like you expected me."
"I actually was," she said as her smile grew even wider, "little Gabie had told us he hoped meeting you and getting to invite you back to us. I was already preparing food for you as well!"
Naomi felt the enthusiasm the woman seemed to radiate. It was infective and seemed to make Naomi feel really enthusiastic as well.
"You're just as lovely as how Gabe described you," Ami said, complimenting Naomi.
"Thank you," Naomi responded, blushing a little.
"Gabe, call your brothers," Ami said, "dinner is ready."
Gabe grinned broadly, "Wanna know how we call each other?"
"By your names...?" Naomi frowned.
Gabe laughed so hard his eyes started to tear up. He held his belly, "God, woman. I meant how to gather them."
"Oh," she grinned sheepishly, blushing a little.
He lead her just outside of the house and then, out of nowhere, stopped in his tracks. He threw his head back and howled, like a wolf to the moon. It caught Naomi by surprise and she looked from Gabe, to Billy, to Gabe back again. Billy couldn't help and laugh at the girls' surprise. It only took a few seconds before the howls of the other residents sounded.
"This is how you call each other?" she said, frowning a bit.
"Yes..?" Gabe answered cautiously, afraid to have scared the girl off.
"That's so.. wild?" she grinned, "it seems like fun though."
"You can try it too." Gabe grinned, glad he didn't scare her off.
"Maybe another time," she smiled.
"Sooo... does that mean you will visit again sometime soon?" Gabe said, feeling a little hopeful.
"I might," she said, "if your folks will have me yet another time."
