Stronger Bonds

Tokoyami point of view

Class had finally ended. I was gathering my stuff when Tsuyu had walked up to me. "Toko kun do you want to walk home together? Kero." She said with her usual calm expression. Before I could even respond Dark Shadow came out "WE'D LOVE TO TSU CHAN!" He hadn't came out on his own in a while, I suppose the rain and the fact that this is Tsuyu just gave him the courage and strength. "That's great, let me just grab my stuff Kero Kero." She said walking away.
I had decided to wait for her by the door since it wouldn't take her very long. Dark Shadow went back inside me. I glanced around the room and only Aizawa sensei was the only person here besides Tsuyu and I. Granted he had already been zipped in his sleeping bag. Tsuyu started to walk toward the door to me. I looked outside the window and saw the rain still pouring down. "We should hurry, wouldn't want to catch a cold." I said pointing at the rain, "Yes that sounds about right. Should we go get my umbrella? I'm sure it's in the court yard." I nodded and we started our trek outside.

We saw her umbrella cought in a bush next to the bench she sat in. It wasn't much, just green with a frog face on it. 'cute' I thought. As I stared at the umbrella more as she grabbed it I remembered the day I met Tsuyu.

Flashback
I was sitting on a swing in a park. Mom and Dad hadn't come home still after Dark Shadow appeared. They were happy at first but Dark Shadow attacked them. Sure they said they'd be back but, I'm scared. I felt a single tear roll down my face. But it quickly was washed away with the rain pouring down. "I never do bring an Umbrella." Just as I said that I heard foot steps approach me. I didn't care to look up. "You're going to catch a cold." They said. It was a young girls voice. She walked over to me and held a green unbrella with a frog face and smiled at me. She had a beautiful smile, and frog features. 'Very fitting with her unbrella' I thought. "My name is Asui Tsuyu. Call me Tsu Chan." I stared at her confused how she could act so confident. I never really talked much but she took away all my worries, even though I've just met her. She's already engraved her self in my mind. 'say something to her' I could feel this was Dark Shadow speaking to me. "I am Tokoyami Fumikage. Thank you." I said gazing into her eyes. "I will call you Toko kun then!" I turned red at the name, but due to the darkness she didn't see.

End if flashback

After that I would rush here Everytime in rained around this time. She was always the one who helped me through hard times, now I wanted to do whatever I could for her. "Toko kun... Toko kun... Fumikage!" She yelled catching my attention. I had never heard her yell or even say my first name. "Y-yes." I stutter. "You spaced out. What was that about? Kero." She said inspecting me as she held the umbrella over us . "I was lost in thought. That's all. Lets keep going." We continued to walk, distancing us from the school. "Hey Toko Kun." I looked at her "Yes?". She stopped walking and I stopped as well. "I'm glad we're friends Toko Kun." She said smiling. I returned the gesture. She grabbed my hand, "Well let's keep going." We both seemed to blush at the heat if our hands touching. We continued to walk in comfortable silence, until she broke it with a sneeze. I looked at her and she seemed flush. "Looks like you cought a cold. Let's get you home." I hadn't been inside Tsuyus house before but I knew where it was because I would sometimes walk her home when we were younger. Her pace slowed and I decided to put her on my back. "Do you mind Tsu?" I asked looking back at her. She shook her head. "I'll just make sure we're dry at least. Thank you Too Kun. Kero" she said resting her head on my shoulder.

Just a little longer and we'll be there. In a matter of moments we arrived at her front door. I looked back at her and she fell asleep holding the umbrella still. "You're so cute Tsu you know that." I whispered to her. I poked her cheek for her to wake up. "Oh we're here. Ok give my a moment." She slid off my back and reached into her bag for what I assumed to be her keys. She unlocked the door and began swaying back and forth. I grabbed her by the waist because she was about to fall over. It didn't seem like anyone else was home. I knew her parents worked a lot so I wondered where her siblings were. I looked around and laid her on a couch. I put my hand on her head. She had a fever. I looked in sine cabinets and found a rag. I rinsed it in hot water, and put it across her forehead. "I need to go but when will anyone else be home?" I asked looking at her pale body. "My parents are out if town with my siblings." She said weakly. "Why aren't you with them?" I asked curiously. "School was- *sneeze* more important to me. Kero." She said glancing at me. I sighed knowing she was alone. "Hold on." I took my phone out and began texting my mom.
'staying at a friend's tonight'- Tokoyami

'okay just let me know when you'll be back.' -Mom

I looked at Tsuyu who never stopped looking at me. "I'm going to be staying over till your family comes back. Where's your room at?" I asked picking her up bridal style. "It's down the hall, third door in the left. Kero." She said pointing. I nodded and brought her to her bed, covering her with the sheets. She grabbed my hand again, "Toko Kun. Thank you. You're really great you know that." I smiled at her and sat on the floor. "Theres a blanket in the top drawer over there if you want." She said looking down at me. I proceeded to the drawer and took out a dark green blanket. I looked at her and smiled "Thank you." She closed her eyes "Mhmm" and she soon slowed her breathing falling asleep. I walked over to a wall facing her bead and laid down with the blanket and looked at her once more. "Goodnight Tsu." And with that I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
