Saturday.

It was Saturday, and Verselle had gotten up early to eat breakfast right away.

Seungkwan and the other two boys still didn't knew why there was a glass of water broken and completely shattered in the kitchen. No one even actually suspected Verselle at all, since they thought a child couldn't just break a glass in the middle of the night without waking anyone up and also because everyone knows Verselle is a heavy sleeper.

Nonetheless, Seungkwan washed and put away the mess, careful not to injure himself with the sharp edges.

Again, yes it's Saturday and Minghao and Junhui went out, Seungkwan suspecting that they're out to date again—although he was completely wrong. Minghao has to go and argue with someone, actually.

On the breakfast table, Seungkwan and his daughter are in silence, before Verselle broke it after, swallowing a piece of her favorite—omelet, that Seungkwan cooked for her.

❝Mama, Verselle had a bad dream.❞

❝Don't worry about it too much, okay, princess?❞

❝But it's been stuck on my mind. . .❞

Verselle pouted, her cheeks becoming chubby. Seungkwan tried to laugh, but hesitated because of the heavy atmosphere.

❝Try to wash it away and don't let it bother you.❞

❝Mama, Verselle has a question and she needs answers.❞

Seungkwan eyed the young girl.

❝What is it?❞

❝Appa is always with uncle Junhui anytime and anywhere instead of you. . . Why is that? As if he doesn't love you at all. . .❞

Seungkwan flinched. Verselle continued.

❝Does appa love mama?❞

Quick silence.

❝Verselle, I think you'll just find the answer when you grow up.❞

❝But why?❞

Seungkwan looked at her eyes, and they were glinting. He just smiled at her.

❝I know you'll find the answer someday.❞

Meanwhile with Minghao, somewhere.

❝STOP JUDGING OUR FAMILY BACKGROUND!❞

Minghao yelled, breathing as he continued.

❝Yes, I may look like a fucking slut because I have a husband yet I stood as Verselle's father when she's not even my daughter. I just wanted to help Seungkwan! What's wrong with that? He didn't deserve any of this. He has gone through a lot!❞

Jieqiong shivered on her spot. Right now she's at the slightly closed door at the kitchen to the living room, secretly peeking. Currently, Minghao and Minkyung were arguing on the living room as Minghao continued to throw shouts. Minkyung just eyed him though.

❝You call yourself my friend-since-freshman-year? What the fuck,❞

❝Minghao, I'm only judging you because you manage two people at once. It's almost like cheating. I'm still your friend, but fine if you don't want to consider it anymore.❞

Minghao took a long sigh.

❝Just as I said, I just wanted to help Seungkwan. He's a dear friend. No one would want Verselle to grow up with heavy burdens on her shoulders. If she grows up with it, she'll carry it along until she grows old! That's it. You just don't understand, Minkyung. Please discipline your child well too, I don't want him to end up like his evil mother. Why did you even follow me and Junhui here in China? You should've go back to Korea.❞

❝But I—❞ (—can't go back to Korea alone without Jieqiong)

❝And don't ever use Jieqiong as an escape.❞
