He pulled the car by the magic fountain shop, renowned ice cream makers. Lily had averted his eyes from the very morning he went to pick her up. He went round to her door, she pressed the lock in a glimpse as he sprinted to open seeing her in action.
She hung her breath making her face a frozen tart. Oh Lily, please. He shouted knocking the window glass peaking at her Little body down the seat. He jumped over the hood trying to spot her, but failed.
He scampered to the driver's and flung the door open. She was hiding under the glovebox. In an attempt to grab her hands, he fiddled through the cabin. She backed herself to the nook as his hands approached her. She screamed cringing herself when his hands finally grabbed her and broke the gates of her green port sending river along her cheeks.
He lifted her with shaky hands and tugged her in his arms pressing his chin on her fur coat. Her tender hands coiled his neck like a snake and she whimpered all her heart out. He felt her whole body tremble as he rubbed her back. His eyes welled up as he crumbled to the seat, they both sat still hugging each other, deciphering his silence and her wail.
He waited until she was done with tears and took her in to the shop when she turned quiet as midnight. He made her hair decent running his hands through them, she sat licking her choclate chip ice cream, sometimes dipping her nose in to it.
Now it was left to him to decide whether to change his life or her's. May be both was about to change. He kissed her hair, the satin of their seats knew their story.
Dad I have decided to adopt Lily. He told him when they met while changing seats for the bakery counter.
That's pretty big dream. How do you plan to meet her expenses Drake? Go singing on the streets?
Drake was appalled.
That little girl deserves a much better home than us.
Martha winked at him to calm down.
She can't live with anyone else, she loves us, she completes our family. He snapped.
What do you think of yourself? Rearing child is no easy job, just because you show her places, buy her candies doesn't make you a dad.
Perkins changed his face to smile at the lady in the table staring at their bicker.
I have made the decision, noone can stop me.
She needs a mother not an young slacker like you. He warned and scurried off bubbling.
**************** ************* ***********
He was frustrated by the time he finished his guitar class and walked to his car.
He grasped a familiar figure standing next to his car.
Oh Lord, he even remembered how those curls of her blonde hair tickled his ears.
He scampered and cuddled her from behind.
Ambush, she felt a hook pluck her heart out , then began the pounding that rocked her ribs.
The breath on her back was so comforting that she could not merely forget it any longer in her life.
Oh god, she forced a breath closing her eyes.
Drake, she spilled the name in a shriek. Exactly it has been one year since she uttered it last time. He thought.
Sophie, he sighed when that moment made him full with his old days back in hand. She clasped his hands on her stomach and slid her head on his face. They moved to her car where they let silence conquer their time. An out of the blue event where these two souls exchanged glances and chose not to speak. Drake was a cracker then and now everything seemed to be different except their voices. Sophie dropped her first word breaking the anxiety, I cannot believe we are apart. We had our life planned to every penny we owed and then all this happened. She shook her head in dismay.
