Chapter 9

Taylor's POV

We made our way to ropes. It was a big area There were a lot of tall beams and several levels of ropes. At the top There was a flag.

There are certain times when people would compete to get the flag first. Right now everyone was practicing. A small part of I t was just for practicing all the time. Right now the competitions didn't mean anything. They were just to practice.

We all walked over. We had to be more careful because there aren't any harnesses. There were mats in case anyone fell, but you were more likely to get caught in ropes before you hit them.

Evie and Blyn smiled at us and tried to give us some tips and pointers. We thanked them and asked them to grab us some healthy snacks for when we were finished. They said they would.

"Do you want us to sign you guys up for the competition to? There's one every twenty minutes. Fifteen minutes until the next one."

"I don't know if I'm ready yet" I said

"Don't stress about it, it wouldn't do any damage. It's just to help you practice and get better." She said

"And its a partner competition" Blyn added

Demi and I shared a look and she nodded

"Okay" I said

Evie and Blyn smiled and went to do their job.

Demi and I both started testing it out, it was really cool. We started climbing and we were both pretty fast. There were a lot of secret ropeways and some trick ropes. All in all it was fun and we were both good at it.

We were climbing around when suddenly Demi hit one of the trick ropes she fell but caught herself. We both let out relieved sighs.

A while later they announced it was time for the competition. We all were lining up and getting a colored band to put on our arms so we could identify teams. While we were doing this I noticed some of the teams.

Hayley Williams was lining up Jeremy Davis,

and... oh..... ohhh......WOAH

the three other teams wer completely unexpected.

Harry and Ed

Louis and Zayn

Niall and Liam.

To say I was surprised would have been an understatement.

While I was staring Harry happened to look over. He flashed me a smirk. I looked over to Demi who was looking at Niall.

I stopped looking at Demi and focused on getting the bands. Ours were Red and Evie helped me put mine on while muttering words of encouragement.

Blyn was doing the same for Demi.

We walked up to the starring ropes with Demi seemingly in a daze. I quickly snapped her out of it by waving my hand in front of her face.

"Okay Demi, this is our first competition against people other than our cabinmates. Its time to put our game faces on"

"You're right Tay, time to kick some butt!"

I smiled at her and we both got in starting positions.

"3..... 2....... 1..... GO!!!!"

Demi and I hurriedly started climbing. I was being the more careful while she was going for speed.

We had a large lead so far that was until Demi wasnt looking and grabbed a bad rope. I caught her and used my strenght to push her back up.

We kept moving and we were making really good progress. We were almost back in front and a small distance away from the flag.

I had just reached my hand out for it when Demi fell. I caught her at the last second. She was going somewhat sideways and I had her hand.

She was heavy and I was losing my grip with my sweaty hands. Plus the other teams were getting closer to the flag. Demi had grabbed onto another rope and was climbing again.

With a sudden burst of energy I pulled her up, and she jumped. We grabbed the flag at the same time.

The competition was over but it was close. If we had been even a second later we probably would have lost.

I looked down at the other teams, Hayley and Jeremy were in front of us and could have gotten the flag. Louis and Zayn were about eight feet below us. Liam and Niall were barely above the bottom, and Harry and Ed were about 5 feet below Hayley.

"Hey! What happened to you guys??" Hayley shouted at Liam and Niall smiling.

"Liam may or may not have fallen on several occasions." Niall shouted back.

We were all laughing even them.

"Congratulations by the way" Hayley said

"Thanks! you guys did awesome too" Demi said.

"Ya but that move you guys did to get Demi back up was amazing!" Zayn said as we were all climbing down.

"Thanks" I said

When we got to the bottom Liam and Niall were goofing off and laughing. Demi and I walked over.

"You are so clumsy!! you fall everywhere" Niall said laughing at Liam

"Hey watch it or Ill push you off another interview couch!" Liam threatened

At this we all started laughing

"Oh no you wouldnt" Niall said after he stopped laughing.

By now everyone had crowded around us. I felt someone brush my arm and I looked to see who. It was Ed smiling at me.

"Congratulations"

"Thanks, you did pretty good too"

"Thank you, so where are you off to next"

"I dont know I would have to ask Demi"

"Ok, you two should come to the gym with us. We'll be weightlifting, but I am sure there are other things if you dont like that"

"Oh cool, I am sure Demi will want to"

"Cool" by this time we had drifted a little bit away from the group.

We walked back in and I found Demi

"Hey, Ed just asked if we would want to accompany them to the gym."

"Sure, could probably use it!"

I laughed and we started walking. We had already spent a little over an hour and a half doing things, so we could probably spend about an hour at the gym.

Demi had gone over to talk to Niall and Liam again so I trailed over to Ed who was talking to Harry.

".... to see if Liam has the right balance" Harry was saying.

"Huh?"

"Oh Harry was just joking about how Liam has bad balance and needs to get it checked."

"Oh, well he does fall a lot."

"Yeah"

We walked into the gym and we were hit by a blast of cold air. We grabbed some water bottles of the table and walked to an open spot.

The boys walked to where the weights were and Demi and I walked ti the treadmills.

Hey guys so I completely FAILED my weekly update last week so sorry! I was busy. Im gonna try to update on Saturdays maybe Sundays each week.

Are you guys enjoying the story? Anything I should add? Sorry its been kinda boring but Im getting there!
