The new beginning...

Back to present day

Izzy's POV;

'Hi, umm well you seem to know who we are but I'm Perrie and this is Alex. We were wondering if you would like to be adopted...by us?' Perrie began.

'OMG! umm yes, of course, I would. I really want to get out of here and live my life but...'

Izzy stares into space, her breathing quickens. She seems to be in a frozen state which is the normally the start to her reoccurring panic attacks.

'Izzy, what is it?' Miss Twinkle questions in a concerning way. Miss Twinkle takes my hand and takes me into the adoption office followed by Perrie. Before Perrie gets to the door, she turns back to Alex, ' um babe we won't be a second'.

I take a seat in the corner of the office and Perrie decides to take a seat next to me with a concerned look on her face. 'umm well, why would you two want to pick me, I just don't understand.' Perrie turns to Miss Twinkle and is confused about what I was talking about.

'Perrie, Izzy's past is very difficult and due to what happened she has had an issue with panic attacks. They can occur at random and sometimes the reason for them isn't clear. I fully understand if you want to reconsider adopting Izzy'

'No, no... that won't be an issue. Izzy...' Perrie turns to Izzy, 'Everyone has their imperfections and some people have the same imperfections, I also suffer from panic attacks from what happened when I was younger. There is nothing to be ashamed of and I can help you, I know how to manage them. So please don't be afraid.'

'Really!, you suffer from them too? That's great!.... no no, I didn't mean it like that. It's just that I can never explain how I'm feeling to anyone as no one understands. Oh, I'm sorry, I always mess things up' Izzy gets up with her head down and starts walking towards the door.

'Izzy, wait! Look I know what you mean, they are difficult to understand but we are in this together.. well if you agree for me and Alex adopting you?'

'About that...' Miss Twinkle begins. 'Umm Izzy why don't you go and think if this is what you want'. Izzy nods and quickly gets up and leaves the office. When Izzy leaves Miss Twinkle starts to explain to Perrie who is sitting rather uncomfortably on the other side of the office.

'Perrie, there is something that I haven't told you about Izzy. When she was younger she was abused badly by her father. I'm not going to go into detail as I believe she will tell you when she is ready. However, this has caused her to have an ongoing fear of guys. I know Alex is a great guy but it might take a while before Izzy gets used to being around him.'

'Miss Twinkle, I completely understand. I will try and help her if she says yes to wanting to be adopted. If she says yes I will have a chat with Alex.'

'Thank you Perrie' Miss Twinkle gets up and starts to walk towards the door but suddenly stops before she reaches the door handle.

'So Izzy, do you like football?'

'yes! I love football and guess what! I support Liverpool'

'That's great, maybe I could take you to see the players one day'

Before Izzy could answer, the adoption office door open and Miss Twinkle and Perrie walk through admiring the sight of Izzy and Alex having a discussion on football. 'It's nice to see you two getting along' Perrie shares.

'Izzy, have you made your decision about this adoption?' Miss Twinkle asks

'Yes, I've decided. I would love to be adopted if that's ok with you Perrie and Alex?'

'Of course, it is ok Izzy, we would love to have you' Alex exclaims

'Izzy, why don't you go and pack your bags while your new parents sign the adoption forms' Izzy smiles and quickly runs up the flights of stairs all the way to the older girls bedroom.

Izzy reaches her bedroom and stuffs all her clothes into her new suitcase that Miss Twinkle got her for Christmas last year. Once packed, she grabs her suitcase and runs down the stairs to the adoption office. She thinks about saying goodbye to her fellow orphans but then she remembers how she doesn't have any friends living here due to them being scared off by her panic attacks.

When Izzy finally gets downstairs, the office door opens and she runs to hug her new parents.

This is going to be the start of a new life right? Izzy waves goodbye to Miss Twinkle as Perrie leads her out to the car with Alex carrying her suitcase. Before Izzy gets the car, she looks back at her home for the past 7 years.

'Goodbye old life... hello new chapter' Izzy mutters under her breath before getting into the car to start her new life.
