The bell for us to get up sounded. I rolled out of my bed to see Julio still asleep. I didn't want to wake he seemed so peaceful lying there but we had to get ready for breakfast I poked Julio in a effort for him to get up his eyes shot open.
"Oh I'm sorry to wake you but we have to go have breakfast." I said looking at the floor trying to avoid eye contact. "Oh.. Yes of course." He replied.
I went to the bath room to brush my teeth. When I returned Julio was topless. I turned away to hide the fact i was blushing. I was now looking at him through the mirror. He had a bruise along his back which looked painful.
"Romeo " he laughed. Don't be shy we are both boys here." He said motioning me to come closer."What happened to your back?" I asked loudly. He looked at the ground "um .. I rather not say I'm afraid you might judge me." He said shamefully.
"Oh" All I could say was oh so many theory's and questions raced through my head but ill save them for if we become better friends. "Sorry I didn't mean to.." "Don't worry about it Romeo." He reassured me.
Oh my I love how he says my name
He says it as if it was his only prayer. He said it so gently and so soft.
We walked to the dining area together. We talked for what seemed to feel like forever. I could listen to his voice all day. I learned his favourite colour which is red and his favourite food and even his favourite play. He is truly fascinating. There's something about the way he talks to me though. It's different to how he talks to others.
I took my seat in classroom one. I always sat near the window. I felt the fresh air dance on my skin as I laid my books on the table. I don't know what it was about my seat I guess it helps me concentrate.
This class was different though. I couldn't concentrate. My mind just wandered off . What happened to Julio's back? Why was he kicked out of his old orphanage? Why did he act differently around me? He's so... Mysterious.
Father Bernard came into the class. Every one stood up for morning prayer. When we had taken our seats he cleared his throat. " So class as you all know our youngest class member Romeo has turned 15 and so it's time for a change." He announced. "But before that let's welcome our newest class mate Julio." He said smiling at Julio. "Well as I was saying changes, I will no longer be teaching you sister Gabriella will be your new teacher. She's going to teach you how to be gentlemen and how to be a man suitable for any lady as you are all old enough to be wed." There was a pause and everything was silent. You could hear a pin drop.
I looked over at Julio beside me. He was so handsome he wouldn't need these lessons and lady would die for Julio to be there suitor. Then I focused on his expression he looked horrified. What was wrong? He caught me staring at him. He forced a smile. "What's wrong" I mouthed. He smiled properly then put his finger to his mouth and shushed me.
The rest of the lesson I couldn't think straight. After class I waited for Julio and we made our way to the dining area for lunch. "So what do you think our new teacher will be like?" I asked trying to get Julio to tell me what was wrong with him. "Think? Oh Romeo I know. She taught in my old orphanage." He chuckled. "Oh what is she like?" I asked. " well she didn't teach me but she taught my ... Um .. Brother." He said as if he was about to cry. "Anyways she's a horrid teacher she beats children and yells a lot. She even brain washed Lopez." He said in a state of rage. "She doesn't seem so bad." I said trying to not question who Lopez was." Trust me, she's worse."
