Always on the run

Chapter 4:

"I'm heading out" I said as I was about to leave the diner "Thanks for the food Margaret and Max"

"Have a nice day honey" my mom said as she waved at me

"Knock them dead kiddo"
"Good luck" Max and Margaret said in sync

I nodded my head and ran out of the diner

Wouldn't want to be late on my first day of school

It been two weeks since we've came to this town and things have been going great

Mom and I have become close to Margaret and Max, Margaret's husband, I think of both of them as my grandparents

My real grandparents died in a car accident before I was even born but mom says I would have loved them

My mom enrolled me in a school called Lupo High

I find the name weird but it doesn't matter

7:30 my clock read

I would have expected nobody to be here yet but I was wrong

The whole parking lot was filled with students

I groaned

I came early to avoid people

I quickly walked pass by the other students but I felt all eyes on me

"Who is she"

"I never seen her before"

"A new student"

I heard people around me mumbled which made me pick up the pace

As soon I was inside I let out a sigh of relief

I quickly made my way to the office, which was next to the entrance

"Hello" I said to the lady in the front who was typing

She ignored me and kept on typing

"Excuse me" I said louder she looked my way in an annoyed expression

"Can I help you" she said with a fake smile

"I'm a new student I'm here to get my schedule and lock number"

She rolled her eyes and turned to her computer "Name?"

"Alexis Matthews"

She quickly typed and in no time she had my schedule and locker number

"Here you go and the lock combination in the bottom of your schedule" she said as she dismissed me

I rolled my eyes and headed to my locker

As I putting my things in my locker

The bell rang

I'm already late for my first class

As I closed my locker I quickly ran to find classroom 256 but just as I was about to turn the corner I bumped into someone
