Malcolm's POV

Being the son of Athena, I'm very OCD. I need to know everything and when I don't, it's very frustrating. Ever since we started this game, I've been keeping an eye on Laurel, Holly, and Damien. They seemed genuinely excited to kill their friends.

I decided to make a dangerous bargain. I tracked them down and formed an alliance. I know, I know, but I needed to keep an eye on them and help my friends.

I was currently following them through the woods in the direction of a fire.

"I'm gonna kill all of them before you even get the chance!" Laurel yelled at her sister.

"Yeah right," Holly scoffed, "you'll be too busy with your head up your—"

"O-okay" Damien cut in, "let's focus on killing this person and then we'll worry about everyone else later."

As we approached the fire I tried making as much noise as possible so the person would hear us coming and run.

But no such luck. Nyssa sat oblivious at the fire. Before I could even move, Damien lunged forward and sank his knife hilt deep in her back. She fell into the fire, but she was already dead.

I wanted to sob. Nyssa and I had grown close over the summers. But I couldn't show weakness.

I couldn't stand it anymore. I let the tears stream down my face in the cover of darkness as the cannon sounded.

Hazel's POV

I giggled from my spot on Frank's back. He was carrying me piggyback style and I was infected with laughter. Kayla just shook her head and sighed.

I know it sounds bad that I'm giggling and smiling given the circumstances, but it keeps me sane. If I really thought about all that had happened, I wouldn't be able to stand it. If I shut it out, I can think straight. It helps me focus.

We were currently trying to find Nico and Will. Me because he's my brother, and Kayla because Will is her brother. We heard what sounded like Nico cussing and then silence. Then followed a scream of pain, and then one of rage.

The second cannon of the day sounded and I could feel the death from here. I was no longer giggling. I climbed off of Frank and ran forward.

What I saw broke my heart. Will was sitting there holding the broken form of my brother. Oh gods. Nico was dead. Oh gods oh gods oh gods. Tears streamed down my face.

Will looked up at me in terror. "RUN!" He screamed, " they're still here!"

I stood frozen, processing his words. My brother's killer was still here. Just then a knife flew through the air and hit Will in the chest. He fell on Nico, dead as well. A cannon blast proved that. We stepped into a massacre.

I turned to yell at my companions to run. I didn't get the chance. There was a sharp pain in the middle of my back. I looked over and saw that Kayla had been hit as well. The cannon fired.

I looked around for Frank. 'Please let him be safe' I prayed. I spotted him behind a tree. He looked like he was desperate to come and comfort me in my last moments, maybe save me. I knew it was hopeless though.

Just then the killers stepped into view. Laurel, Holly, and Damien. Frank couldn't come out into the open without being hit. I felt my knees give out and I made eye contact with Frank. My beautiful, wonderful, loving, caring boyfriend. At least I got to see him before I died.

I smiled at him as I fell. 'I love you' I thought, wishing he could here me.

Harley's POV

The other campers said I shouldn't watch. They  said it was too scary; too sad. All camp activities had been canceled for the duration of the time our heroes were at war with each other.

Everyone huddled together in the amphitheater with blankets and pillows, watching the carnage on various screens. I cried the hardest when my sister died. And then again when the same guy killed four other people.

Most of the tributes were forming friendly alliances and thought the game was as horrible as I did. Others embraced the challenge and caused destruction and pain. I can't believe they go to camp here. Can't believe I've met them, talked to them. It's sick and disgusting.

I watched from afar as Leo and Percy met up with Annabeth, and how Thalia stalked the woods alone, getting dangerously close to a group of three.

Reyna was in that group, with Dakota and Clarisse. Hopefully they can defend themselves against the lone wolf. Hopefully.

I'm twelve. I'm not supposed to see so much carnage, yet I can't look away.

I had noticed earlier that when Thalia killed her brother she had to look away as she released the drawstring. Maybe that means there is still some sanity left in her. Maybe not. I don't know.

I know somewhere that Sally Jackson is watching the very same thing, and so is Frederik Chase, and all the parents of the poor souls in this tournament. I wonder what went through their minds as they watched their kid brutally murdered on screen.

Reyna's POV

I heard a rustle in the trees. Thalia's losing her edge.

"I know you're out there Thalia." I called.

"Shit," she grumbled and stepped into the clearing.

She looked slightly scared and worn out, like she was tired of killing her friends. Or maybe she was just hungry. She still had that cold, murderous glint in those electric eyes.

I assessed the situation calmly. She had only two arrows left in her quiver. She could shoot two, killing two of us but then again, I'm sure she would have no problem with killing the last with her bare hands.

I had to figure out how to get out of here with Dakota and Clarisse. I made my decision with slight regret. I really didn't want to have to do this, but if it came down to me or her, I was going to pick me.

I twirled my dagger between my fingers and before she could say anything more, I threw it with deadly accuracy. It struck her right between the eyes and she fell dead instantly. The cannon boomed and I ran, not bothering to grab the dagger.

That was a very intense chapter. Holy Hera. I almost cried writing Hazel's death. That was SIX whole deaths in ONE chapter. Anyway, remember to comment and vote. Thanks for reading. I really appreciate it. See ya later demigods.
