Matthew pulled me up to the elevator entrance and I tried to walk away but he kept a firm grip on my wrist. I explained to him how stupid and reckless this was and tried to get it through his thick skull how bad of an idea it was. He laughed as the door opened and shoved me inside and he followed. I pressed the open door button but it didn't work. I turned to Matt, my face pale as I began quaking with fear. He put his arm around my shoulder, I was too paralyzed to move away from him. He asked me what floor and I said anything but the 13th, I knew the myth about the 13th floor and I saw the button for it on the elevator. Sure enough, Matt pressed the 13. I started freaking out. I shut down on the outside and my anxiety kicked in. I was screaming in my head. On the outside I was staring at my streaky reflection in the metal paneling.

"Ivy. Nothing is going to happen you are o-" he was cut off by the light sparking out. Out of fear I held tightly onto Matthew as he held back. All we could hear was the elevator music and all we could see was the bright red LED number 13 on the screen. Then we heard a record screech and the 13 went out like an old tv screen turning off. I felt like I was in an episode of The Twilight Zone, Like I was on the tower of terror ride at Disney World. I pulled out my phone to call 911 but the screen just popped up with the dead battery sign. We slowly crouched in the corner of the elevator together. I could hear his heartbeat, his breathing. We were both so scared and alone. I pulled out my laptop and the same dead battery sign popped up. I put all my belongings in my backpack and curled up against Matthew.

"I'm going to die here," I whispered putting my head against his chin. I felt a tear roll down his cheek as he tried to calm his breathing. We both heard a footstep from the other side of this metal prison. Then a deep steady breath then another and another until I heard Matt gasp and I felt him slowly being pulled down across the floor.

"Matt! Hold on I got you!" I grabbed his arm and attempted to pull him back from this unknown force that was now suddenly in the elevator with us. I lost my grip, I lost him. I heard him struggling to get free, the sounds seemed to sound more distant than possible in this small space until I heard a door slam and Matt scream,

"Ivy! Look out! Behind you!" Then next thing I felt was a sharp prick on the side of my neck and the sound of a syringe injecting something into my flesh. I gasped and my heart skipped 5 beats then I lost consciousness.
