Chapter Eleven | Be Mine

Anna

Nothing in my life so far had been made easy for me, there had always been some obstacle in the way of my happiness. I could never have that perfect childhood that everybody deserves, I could never reveal who I truly was due to fear and much self loathing. Lately though, non of that seemed to matter, it was as if my life was in black and white until Lauren came into the picture. She made me feel everything, all the emotions I had buried deep inside me would resurface for her. Jealousy, lust, passion and the most important thing, that four letter word. But I haven't admitted that to myself fully.

My tired eyes drifted to her body that was wrapped around my own on the bed. After our little confrontation in the bathroom last night we burned out all our anger, and I was relieved that we were ok again. Being without her was awful and I never wanted to be in that position again.
Her breathing was soft and even against my neck, making me shiver even though I was anything but cold. That long raven hair that I adore was fanned out over the pillows, she was so effortlessly beautiful. Unfortunately, my favourite feature was unavailable right now, but I wouldn't make her wake up just to see those gorgeous emerald eyes that floored me from the beginning. I would wait, after all today was her birthday and she deserved a lie in.

If it was any other day and I woke up early, I would probably be working, laying in bed bored me. With Lauren on me it was different, laying in bed was suddenly the only place I wanted to be. Gently, I lifted my hand and started running my fingers through her hair. Subconsciously she groaned her approval and nestled into me slightly more, I smiled softly. Our legs were both bare and tangled together, but on top we both decided to wear t-shirts. Actually, I decided that. My grin widened as I thought of last night, when Lauren threw me on the bed after our stifling drive home. How close we got before I told her no. Not like that. I wanted our first time to be special and tonight it would be. All for her, I would give her everything I have.

Knowing she was still asleep I felt safe to say what was on my mind. My face softened and I planted a gentle kiss on the top of her head.
"I love you, Lauren." I whispered, before closing my eyes. Content.

Lauren

"Happy birthday, baby." Anna greeted gently as soon as I opened my eyes. Stifling a yawn I smiled tenderly at her, this was already the best birthday ever, waking up in this woman's arms.

Deciding to be flirty rather than mushy I turned so I could watch her face to face, lowering my eyelids with a devious grin. "Mmm, that was the best wake up call I've ever had." I murmured.

"All part of the service." She said, lowering her eye-line to my lips. It was subtle, but not subtle enough.

I lifted up on my elbows so that our lips were merely inches apart. "What else do you offer?" I prompted.

Anna sighed. "Anything you want."

"Anything?" I repeated, teasingly.

"Yes."

I inched closer, not breaking. "Interesting."

My boss growled low in her throat. "Fuck, Lauren."

It really turned me on when she swore, so this was making my teasing game much harder. My lips suddenly felt dry and my heart rate increased. Anna clearly felt the same way. I saw how she gripped the bedsheets, her nails digging into them in order to anchor herself. But I wanted her to let go, I'd waited long enough.
