"For the last time Misha." I whined in to the phone, trying not to cry out of pure frustration. "We're over. Done! Stop asking your friends to find me."

It was half seven in the morning and I was late for school, in the near eighteen years I had been alive I'd only been late to class a handful of times. Misha Davids was making me late. My now ex-girlfriend had been ringing me all summer, trying to 'salvage' our once functioning relationship. However, I wasn't happy to find out that the girl I thought I was in love with had been cheating on me all along. But somehow, after ending things I was in the wrong, apparently.
So we broke up, and since then I got numerous phone calls everyday and harassment from all of her friends. Half of them wanted to beat the shit out of me for hurting her feelings and half of them wanted to drag me to Misha, which would be even worse.
To be honest with you, I'm not sure what I did wrong. She cheated on me.

I guess popularity is what it comes down to, if you have an army of friends that is an army of people to back you up. All I have is Hannah, my amazing film-fanatic best friend. But I like it that way. Still, it would have been nice if Misha left me alone.
I ran a hand through my thick dark hair, biting my lip as I waited for Misha to respond to me.

"Baby." She purred down the line. A month ago I would have melted at that, not anymore. "I just want to get you back, you know how much you mean to me Renny."

"Lauren." I snapped. "My name is Lauren Addams. Not Renny, I've always told you not to call me that."

"Fine." She acquiesced. "Lauren, I'm just trying to prove how much I love you."

My anger bubbled deep inside me, the pure audacity of this girl. She was beyond infuriating. Within the red mist of my brain I managed to remember that I needed to leave for school right now. If I get a detention because of Misha that would be the icing on the cake.
Whilst using my shoulder to hold the phone to my ear I grabbed my schoolbag and walked outside to lock the door. The anger in me just wouldn't subside though, so all my pent up emotions managed to escape my lips.

"You could have proved to me how much you loved me before by not fucking someone else. It's called a monogamous relationship, look it up in the dictionary!" I seethed, my cheeks were flushed red with rage.

The line was silent and I knew I'd pushed it, she didn't like it when I spoke back to her. "See you soon baby." She sneered. "Sooner than you think."

"In your dreams." I replied before disconnecting the call. No way was I going to let that girl push me around anymore. I didn't deserve that, I deserved better.

Taking a deep gulp of fresh crisp autumnal air helped calm me down a bit. At a leisurely pace I began to walk towards my school, it took me over half an hour on foot to get there but that was without having to make detours. Due to Misha's minions trying to find me to beat the shit out of me I've had to take a back alley with a few old houses on it to try and avoid them all. It took longer but it was worth it as so far they hadn't caught me.

The sky above me was dark and looked like it could rain at any given moment. I groaned internally. I hate the rain.
And I definitely wasn't dressed for rain in a black denim jacket, jeans and t-shirt. I'd even forgotten an umbrella.

As I walked my phone buzzed against my thigh. Internally I prayed it wasn't Misha, I'd only been awake for an hour and she had already ruined my day. Luckily it was just Hannah.

Hannable Monroe: Don't be late today, I want to sign us up for film club!! And did u hear back from that intern thingy?? Xxx
