Thursday zoomed past me faster than a race horse on Mtn. Dew. Before I knew it, it was Friday. With all the hard work, the team, Babs and I, have put into practicing and perfecting our skills for the Softball Olympics, I actually think we could win some events.
*9 A.M. On Friday*
I sent out a group text to the team letting them know the details of the Olympics today:
The Softball Olympics are being held in Mendon today, the bus is at 11:30 at the high school. Bring all your stuff. 😃
I was awake, half dead, but awake none the less. Scout made her way over to me and laid down in just the right spot so her tail kept smacking me in the face. Ugh, I guess it's time to get ready.
Don't worry, I'm sparing you the details of my extensive morning facial ritual.
I left the house around 10 and I arrived at the high school at 11:05. I've already set up our batting line up, and who's doing what in each event. Mariah helped me drag the gear from my car to the bus. After the gear was secure I'm the side of the bus we went inside to meet the team.
"Is everybody here?" I asked
"Yeah," Marilyn replied
"Alright, let's head out!" I yelled so the team would pay attention to me
We emerged from the doors, and loaded the bus. The bus sighed as the doors closed and we began moving.
"Listen up team, at this moment were on our way. On our way to prove our position to Kevin. To pummel them into next week. To crush their team spirit. To break, bend and bruise them." I said then cleared my throat, "Um, I meant show off our softball skills."
