The club is packed. Sweaty bodies on the dancefloor of the new and improved Croc's Den which got shut down after the owner got fined for not 'keeping up with code' or whatever that means. But one thing Usopp does know, is that while looking at the crowd of the club is that he did NOT want to be here. And the only reason he agreed was because Luffy (his "bestest friend", Luffy's words. Not his.) promised him he would pay his tab.
Luffy apparently knows the owner which would explain why they didn't have to wait in the long hectic line outside. For that he is grateful for but AGAIN Usopp didn't want to be here in the first place.
Usopp's p.o.v
"...and that's when I told Vivi that sounds like a great idea.. um hello?" suddenly there was a hand waving in front of my face. "Earth to Usopp!!Hello??"
I finally snapped out of my daze and turned slightly to face my bestfriend. "Sorry Lu what were you saying?" Luffy rolled his eyes at me then decided to apparently show his ass infront of all of these people.
"I cant believe you keep ignoring me?? We are trying to have a date and you keep spacing out. Is it someone else? HUH?? DO YOU NOT LOVE ME ANYMORE??" I tried my best to keep my laughter in while I noticed the girl next to us said something along the line of 'men aint shit'.
"Luffy please stop so we can have a conversation. People are looking right now" I say still trying to stifle my laugh as the same girl walks up to Luffy to embrace him while mean mugging me.
BOO can I help you?? I finally collect myself to walk up and pry Luffy from the girl to drag him to the bathroom.
Its there does Luffy break character to laugh so loud it almost breaks my eardrums.
"Dude I cant believe you just did that to me" I say in-between laughs. "Did you see her face? I totally got you good. This should be your lesson to ignoring your bestfriend while he's trying to tell you about his engagement" oh so that's what its about.
"I'm so happy yall are getting engaged. But please don't spoil the surprise before next week comes" See you don't get it. Luffy is going to propose to his childhood sweetheart/mow girlfriend, Nami.
Nami is a sweetheart.... to kids..and Luffy...and money. Its not that we don't get along. She is just very "bag-oriented", she loves money getting money smelling money and...money. I don't blame her. Its a question on how Luffy bagged her. They are a cute ass couple just its crazy how the universe let two people who are TOTAL opposites find each other. I guess opposites DO attract.
"Come on man have more faith in me! I got Vivi to come to keep me in line. We do need to discuss that Vivi want to hook you up with Nami's cousin Khris. Now before you-" I suddenly cut him off. Him or Nami are always trying to set me up with people and then when i finally agree to meet them and go on a date they never show up and I'm tired of it. "No Luffy. I don't need to bring a date its just a surprise proposal-"
''Slash engagement party."
"Yes its a surprise proposal SLASH engagement party. I don't need a date. But I DO need another drink." I say looking around to club so I can get back to the bartender so I can get another scotch on the rocks.
" I get that but please just talk the Khris. I promise she's nice and I've actually met her." wait does this mean they didn't know the people they set me up with before? He continues to ramble on and knowing him he could go on forever so I suck it up and say the words he desperately wanted to hear "Damn okay Luffy I'll at least talk to her."
His face almost immediately brighten up and his face turns into the biggest smile. " I promise you wont regret it"
He says that but why do I feel like I AM going to regret it?
