 Anne sat quietly on the floor while Freya paced across it. Aurora's unconscious body lay next to Anne; they were waiting for her to wake up.

 "So, tell me, Anne," said Freya, "All this must seem a little dull after being the Queen of England."

 Anne scowled. "If you weren't such a powerful witch, I'd break your neck. What have you done with Lucien?"

 "He's perfectly safe with Elijah. And I wouldn't be making threats if I were you. Oh, took you long enough," she said as Aurora woke up. "Now that my spell is complete...."

 "We're gonna have a lot of fun." A brunette woman Anne had never seen before stalked into the room.

 But Aurora seemed to know her. "Hayley! The mother of Niklaus' child. Oh, I was hoping I'd get to meet you."

 "Feeling's not mutual," Hayley replied with a glare.

 "Oh, okay. So, then what, pray tell, are we doing here?"

 "You're going to tell us where to find Rebekah," said Hayley, "Or we're going to kill you."

 Anne paid hardly any attention as Aurora, Freya, and Hayley all fought. No one cared that she was there. She clearly wasn't important in any of this. In fact, the only person there who cared at all was Lucien. And where was he?

 But she was soon dragged back to the dinner table, she was thrilled to see Lucien still alive and well. Lucien really did know nothing of Rebekah Mikaelson's disappearance; it the de Martels who were to blame for that. Anne was a little surprised that Klaus Mikaelson simply let her go, but he had Tristan as incentive.

 "Lucien," Klaus said, finally turning to the brunet Frenchman, "You and your secretary will take me to Camille, and you will surrender that medallion to me, or you will meet an end so cruel the Devil will weep."

~~~~~~
 "Where do you think she went?" Anne asked.
 "Oh, how the hell should I know?" Lucien snapped, pouring himself another drink. "What a terrible waste of a day."
 The two vampires sat by the fireplace, drinking and attempting to get over the day's terrifying  events.
 "Why do you suppose the de Martels took Rebekah Mikaelson?" Anne asked.
 Lucien shrugged. "Leverage, I suppose. It's not all that easy to manipulate the Mikaelson tribe. Who knows what happened to Camille? She'll turn at some point, dead or alive."
 Anne nodded and tapped on her glass. "I was worried about you, you know. I'm apparently so useless that all I had to do was sit on the floor while the girls interrogated Aurora."
 "Anne!" Lucien looked appalled.
 "What?"
 "Don't ever say that you're useless. You are the one person who is always on my side. The first time I ever saw you, I knew you had been wronged, and that you were exactly the sort of friend I needed."
 Anne smiled. "Well, we've certainly come that far, haven't we?"
 They clinked their glasses together, and took another drink.
~~~~~~

 Anne drank much than she should have that night. She had only just gotten to her room when she curled up on her bed and fell asleep with her clothes still on. When she woke up the next day, it was much rather time than her usual time.

 "Oh, God," she groaned. She got up and peeled off her dress. "That can be used for firewood."

 She took a long, hot shower, most likely using up all of the hot water in the building. but for the moment, she really didn't care. She put on clean clothes and walked to the living room calling for Lucien.

 There was a note on the side table, written in Lucien's script:

 Gone out with Klaus. Will return A.S.A.P. Lucien

 Gone out with Klaus? Klaus Mikaelson? What the hell did that mean?

 Well, Anne thought, settling down on the sofa, it could mean a few things: they could have just been hanging out, which was extremely unlikely, given the circumstances. They could be secretly in love, which Anne highly doubted. Or Klaus could have made Lucien go somewhere with him.

 The third was the most likely.

 Anne got her phone and texted Lucien, asking if he was alive and if Klaus had hurt him. She quickly got a reply, saying that he was alive so far. It had to do with what he called the 'Cami situation'. That girl seemed to be key to everything. She had the serratura, and she was the object of Klaus Mikaelson's affections. Aurora de Martel wouldn't be very happy about that one.

 Aurora. That was what happened to Cami, wasn't it? Aurora kidnapped her, that madwoman.

 Now, Anne personally didn't have much against Aurora. They certainly weren't friends, but neither one hated the other. Anne knew Aurora had broken Lucien's heart long before she met him, and Lucien probably still had feelings for her. Aurora wasn't a bad person, but by God, was she a lunatic. Who knew what she would do with poor Camille.

~~~~~~
 When Lucien entered his bedroom that night, he found Anne curled up on his bed watching the television.
 "Comfy?" he asked.
 "Mm. Where the hell have you been all this time? Do you know, I was actually worried about you?"
 "I told you, I was with Klaus. Turns out," he settled down next to her, "Aurora kidnapped Cami, and was going to kill her. Klaus found her in time, though, but now Aurora knows that Cami is where Klaus' affections lie these days. I did my best to comfort her, of course, but she was pretty much inconsolable."
 Anne muted the television. "Do you still love her?"
 "Who?"
 "Well, who do you think I mean?"
 He shrugged. "I'm always going to love her. There's no getting around that. Look, I know you're not friends-"
 "Oh, definitely not. But...if you still love her...I'd understand."
 He nodded. "Okay." He sighed. "I'm going to go wash up, get the stench of another horrible day off. You enjoy the television."
