It took time for peace to come.

Hell was a fiery, horrid place. Every moment Anne spent there was absolute torture. She didn't know how long she was there, but it was too long. She cried for Lucien constantly, hoping he was there, praying he would hear her cries. But she never heard him call back.

And then a miracle happened. Hell was destroyed, and everyone there was freed. A peaceful afterlife came to her, one where there was no torture.

She and Lucien met up again in that afterlife. They cried and held each other and vowed not to leave each other again.

"Did I ever tell you about this?" she asked, fingering her locket.

 "I don't think so."

She opened to reveal two little photographs, one of each of them.

Lucien smiled. "How long have you had those?"

"A long time," she answered. "And I have this, too." She gently touched the lock of red hair he'd given her that Christmas. "My poor Elizabeth. But she survived. Henry had me executed because I couldn't give him a son, and I was labeled as a whore and a witch, but it was my daughter who became one of England's greatest monarchs. That was my great vengeance."

"Well, I certainly wish all revenge schemes worked that well," said Lucien, "Or we wouldn't have ended up here."

But they knew that together, they would find peace, somehow.

For what else could they do?
