 "Wait 'till you hear this," Lucien said to Anne. "Only a few days since Klaus was disconnected from his sire line, and already people are trying to kill him."

 Anne sighed. "Brilliant. Who was it this time?"

 "An old friend named Cortez. Apparently ol' Nik did something to upset him once. But no matter, he's dead now. You see, the Strix were told that Cortez was the one killing various members of the Strix. But really, it was Hayley Marshall attempting to get revenge for the death of her husband, who was sadly murdered by Tristan."

 "Ah. And what does that have to do with us?"

 "It has quite a lot to do with us," Lucien replied. "Due to everything, Klaus and Hayley have taken their daughter and left town. So, with Klaus out of town, this is the right time to make our move."

 "You mean you're going to make your move," Anne corrected him. "Apparently, I'm just the secretary."

 "Oh, come on, Anne, you know that's not true. You are so much more than a secretary. Right now, you are the one person in the entire world I know I can trust with complete faith."

 "Well, of course I am," she said, sitting up straighter. "Who else could you possibly trust with all these deep, dark secrets of yours? So, how are we going to go about this, then?"

 "It's actually very simple," Lucien said. "I'm going to kidnap Freya Mikaelson."

 She sighed again. "Well, so much for laying low for a while. You're really going to do this."

 "Oh, I'm going to do this." He gave her a wicked smile. "Who would have seen this coming?"

~~~~~~
 Anne was waiting when Lucien returned to the penthouse with an unconscious Freya Mikaelson and a witch named Vincent Griffith. What he was for, she didn't know, but she watched as Lucien tied Freya to a chair and listened as he told her all about how he had gotten ahold of both Freya and the last of the white oak which could kill the Mikaelsons.
 "You've got this all figured out, don't you?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips.
 "Of course I do. A Mikaelson witch, a white oak bullet...throw in a dash of werewolf venom and a glass of champagne, and I'd say we have a recipe for some real fun!"
 "You say so, but what do we do now that we have her? We can't stay here."
 "And we're not," said Lucien. "We're going to a charming little place called Mystic Falls."
~~~~~~

 "It's the place where it all started," Lucien had said to Anne, "And it's where I have to go to complete it."

 Now they were in the woods of Mystic Falls, Virginia. It was the place where Esther had first created the Originals, over a thousand years before. This was Lucien's intentions. Fomr the beginning, only Anne had known Lucien's true intentions.

 Lucien was going to become an Original, one that could kill the Mikaelsons for good.

 Anne stood off to the side, and watched silently as Lucien used Freya and Vincent to complete the spell. This was the grand moment they had been waiting for, when Lucien could finally do what he was meant to do. It didn't escape her notice that he took to doses of the mixture, and she wondered what the other was for.

 Of course, Freya pleaded with him to stop, just as Camille O'Connell had done when Lucien was going to kill Kinney.

 "Today is the beginning of an awful lot of death," Lucien said to her, "Starting with yours, I'm afraid. Truly, you and I could have been quite the thing." He grabbed her by the neck and began to choke her.

 "Lucien?"

 Anne immediately recognized the voice of Elijah Mikaelson, and with him was Finn Mikaelson, another long-lost Mikaelson sibling.

 "Ah, jut in time for the party!" Lucien cried. "Cheers!" He held up the bottle and quickly drank it all down. "Now, let the fun begin! Can either of you get to me faster than I can rip your darling sister's head off." He smiled when the brothers shared a worried look. "Didn't think so."

 But before he could do anything, Finn Mikaelson grabbed the gun form the police officer who was with them and shot at them, sending the bullets through Freya's shoulder straight into Lucien's heart.

 "Oh, you clever bastard!" Lucien cried before collapsing to the ground, dead.

 If it were in any other circumstances, Anne would have screamed and run to him. But she didn't this time. This time, she knew what was going to happen.

 She smiled as Lucien rose triumphantly once again, now in a super-Original form, something no one had ever seen the likes of.

 Lucien didn't get the chance to kill Freya or Elijah that day. But he did have just enough time to bite Finn and infect him with werewolf venom that would certainly kill him. Once he had, he grabbed Anne by the arm, and off they fled.

~~~~~~
 "Are you sure you're not having any regrets?" Anne asked.
 "None whatsoever," Lucien replied. "I would ask you why you would ask that, but I know it's concern. I don't regret killing Finn, and I'm not going to regret killing the rest of that lot when I get the chance."
 "Why are we here?" Anne asked as they pulled up to the Lafayette Cemetery.
 "It's to do with a person. Some days ago, ol' Nik sealed Aurora in a tomb in here. We're going to break her out. Unless you're afraid of getting your shoes dirty."
 "Not if you're not afraid of getting yours dirty."
 Aurora. Lucien took two doses of the venom to give one to Aurora. He really thought they could still have a future.
 And where would Anne fit into the equation? She didn't think she would.
