Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since I've updated anything, exams have been taking over my life atm. But I actually had time to finish this chapter today. Hope you like it :)
Chapter 2:
For the rest of the day the guy who had literally bumped into me in Starbucks had been on my mind. I had to stop myself from calling him. Yes, I had saved his number into my phone and yes I was losing my mind slightly ever since the incident. As soon as I had met up with my friend Millie, we had decided that I needed to buy a new top and fast so we went into the first shop we found and I bought something that I had already planned to buy that day anyway. I was thankful that the drink hadn’t spilt over any other part of me other than my shirt otherwise it would have been even more embarrassing.
“Where do you want to go now?” I asked Millie, almost dropping the huge number of shopping bags that I was now carrying. I don’t think I had ever spent this much money in my life but it was okay because I was finally getting paid more than minimal wages and I had moved into a flat with a few other people so for once in my life I wasn’t going to be bankrupt from a little bit of retail therapy.
“I don’t want to ruin your fun but I’ve certainly spent more than planned already today and also I don’t think we could carry anymore,” she laughed as she pointed at me with an amused look on her face.
“Okay, let’s go,” I smiled, heading towards the exit of the shopping centre. We had been here for 6 hours which was a surprisingly short amount of time in comparison to the amount of things that we had bought.
As soon as we had hit the road heading up towards my flat I felt one of my bags fall from my grasp. I attempted to catch it before it fell to the floor but due to my slow reactions and my clumsy nature I ended up dropping all of the bags in my right hand. I quickly tried to grab up the bags and the few items that had started to spill out, including some of my new underwear when I heard someone say next to me, “I thought you always made good choices, I’m guessing choosing to throw all of your shopping bags into the air was the best choice you ever made,” the guy chuckled.
I could feel my cheeks starting to flush the darkest shade of red ever and quickly swooped down to try and grab my underwear that could be seen from an open bag. The whole time I was hoping that he hadn’t seen the content of that bag otherwise I would be SO embarrassed it would probably kill me…
“You know, if you text me I could have come and helped you pick some things out or at least offered to buy you a new top seeing as I ruined your other one,” I met his eyes cautiously, hoping that my cheeks had died down a little bit in colour by now.
“I’m sorry but are you stalking me?” I asked, my voice laced with sarcasm.
“Not exactly,” he chuckled, picking up the rest of my bags. I looked at Millie who was just standing there. For once in her life she was silent whilst this whole exchange between me and this guy was going on. I still didn’t know his name… maybe I should ask him. I gave her a pleading look for her to help me but she just shook her head and laughed at me.
“Right…anyway… it was nice bumping into you again but I really need to go,” I smiled politely at him and took the bags out of his hands.
“Yeah well, you have my number,” he winked before turning away. He took two steps forward before turning back to us and calling out over his shoulder “Oh and I would have taken you for more of a silk underwear kind of girl but I was obviously wrong.”
Now my cheeks were so red it was unbelievable. I thought I was lucky and he hadn’t seen my underwear in the bag but I was the one who was ‘obviously wrong’. He wasn’t really making a good first impression of himself because the only thing that came to my head when I thought of him now was ‘ass’.
“Who in the world was that and where can I get myself one of those?” Millie asked inbetween trying not to laugh and actually trying to breathe.
“That was the idiot who spilt his drink down me,” I huffed.
“And you hadn’t even called him!? Jaz are you okay, do you need help?” she asked me placing her hand to my forehead as if I had a temperature or something and was going crazy.
“Millie, seriously?” I swatted her hand away from my face, “that guy spilt his drink down me and then acts like an ass, so no, I will not phone him.”
“He could spill his drink down me any day of the week and I’d still phone him if he gave me his number,” Millie shrugged like it was the only thing to do.
“It was only about 6 hours ago that it happened, if I had phoned him before now it would look like I was desperate, don’t you know anything about boys!?”
“Yes, I know a lot more than you do anyway, you can hardly act like you’ve had experience,” she joked, knocking into my side gently.
“Sorry for not being the local slut,” I stuck out my tongue at her. This of course wasn’t true but it was one of the things we joked about.
“Sorry for being able to get some,” she stuck her tongue out back at me. Yes we were both acting like five year olds but we didn’t really care.
“Hey, I think this proves that I can get some if a guy is actually trying to get me to call him,” I pulled another face at her before carrying on the journey to my flat.
“You know what, I think you may be right,” she said in mock sarcasm before laughing. She laughed at everything which was good if you told bad jokes like me because it actually made me seem funny.
As we approached my flat I somehow managed to get my keys out of my bag without spilling my new clothes everywhere again.
“What’s the plan for tonight?” Millie asked, slipping out of her boots and jumping onto my bed.
“Normal three options, club, movie night or a nice romantic walk for two followed by a cute candle lit dinner somewhere,” I joked, we actually sometimes did go for a nice meal out but it was never cute or romantic.
“Option three please,” she smiled, “I like going out for a meal with you. I mean I like doing the other options too but least we get to talk. God this makes me sound like I want to date you. I don’t. I’m sorry Jaz but I don’t swing for people like you,” she shrugged as if we were having a standard conversation.
“It’s alright Millie, I feel exactly the same way about you,” I rolled my eyes before emptying the contents of my new clothes onto my bed.
