The road we took got wider but as we walked farther it started to crowd. Dozens of small stalls were aligned on the buildings, each presenting their fresh supply of products in the little containers.

"Ah, this must be the humble marketplace of the humans." Father noted.

Different people greeted one another with sincere smiles. The stall owners carried friendly faces and replied with respect. Mothers gossiped with one another while their children played around. The workers helped each other carry boxes and push carts full of food. It was a busy place yet you can feel the atmosphere was amiable and comforting. It wasn't pestering like it was at home. I remembered the kids freely playing from a while back.

Maybe this is what father said about being rich. Maybe father was right about humans being beautiful. I wonder. I decided to stay quiet and follow my father around to observe more about this strange world.

We passed by a few good-looking stalls and father doesn't seem to be interested on them. Oi. This old man's sight must have gone weary. I've already seen plenty of fresh food from the stalls we just passed. I looked at his eyes, it was focused on something and there I noticed we were heading towards the poor looking stall-if I were to even call it a stall.

You've got to be kidding me. Why must he be so chivalrous to these peasants-eh. I slowed down my pace until I was walking behind him. My appetite has left me. I stood behind father as he conversed with the frail vendor. The fool noticed that we didn't look like we were from around here. That's right! We do not walk among you peasants. I might just give this guy a treat for his keen eye.

Father then introduced himself to the commoner. From behind I heard the townspeople kept on uttering Mariejois with fear. I looked around and saw the scared looks on their faces. Is this how they see us Celestials? The vendor then asked if father was a Celestial. I frowned at him. I thought he knew, this fool should be punished for not knowing when Royalty is right at his face.

"I have cast that title aside. I am a human from now on. We want to become friends with you all."

After hearing that statement, the vendors reaction made my veins pop. My father just lowered his manner of speaking to those sick imbeciles and they react with disgust on their faces! What's more, the growing crowd that minutes before was so eager to hear every word from father's mouth, just so happened to cowardly flee away from the scene. Didn't those imbeciles just hear his command? Why don't they embrace my father and I like friends as he said! They are dishonoring the presence of a Celestial Dragon! All the veins on my head popped. That's it.

"Oi! Why don't you fall down on your knees!? How disrespectful of you fools! Somebody get a gun! Just who do you think I am?! "

The scene grew quiet. All of a sudden, the crowd looked at me with murderous faces. For once I felt a tingle in my spine, all the hairs on my back stood up. Their eyes were gleaming with hate. A man spat on the ground just a foot above me. I was about to have another fit when my old man stood in front of me facing the crowd.

"Now, now. We don't want any attention we just want to buy some food." he said in a gentle tone. Somehow, I do admire father's kind approach towards everything but it does nothing good to him. Especially now in this situation, it is useless against these airheads.

Another man in the crowd exclaimed "They're former Celestials, right?" Then the humans started gathering around us. "And it looks like no one's around to protect them." he threateningly remarked. The crowd started to carry weapons they could find and moved maliciously closer towards us.

I wanted to run back to the small mansion but I didn't move. I couldn't move. My legs were frozen. I was petrified. What's up with their faces? They looked with sheer distaste. I can feel their murderous aura from head to toe. Why are they looking at us that way? Why are they doing this? Father, I don't understand.

The frail vendor had a sudden rush of strength and held father from the back. "Get them!" he ordered. I kicked him hard in the groin. The mighty vendor became frail once more and winced in pain. Father escaped from his clutches. He quickly took me and ran as fast as he could. The crowd didn't follow us any further. "Fools! You'll pay for what you've done!" I screamed at them.

"Why are they treating us this way? We are their gods!" I asked father but he was too busy running to hear. I will make sure that these fools will burn in hell.

This chapter elaborates Doffy's present understanding of the nature of humans. He did say in the anime/manga that deep down despite their angelic faces they all lust for blood and revenge. He had his chance of redemption and development but his circumstance didn't give him a chance and now I guess there's no going back for him.
