We arrived at our mansion tired, hungry and empty – handed. Mother quickly tended to us. She is always quick on her hands when it comes to caring for us. "We weren't able to bring anything because of that stfufid twown!" I complained to mother as she was wiping my face with a hot towel. "Hush now Doffy darling, it's alright. We won't ever go back to that town." Mother then explained that while she and Roci were unpacking they found some food supplements that was left on the piles of baggage. The food supplements looked awful and bland but mother found out a way to turn this garbage into a mouth- watering gourmet.

Everything is just better when she's around. Mother always knows how to make things right. I don't know how I'll keep my sanity without her.

After finishing the food, father quickly sent us off to bed. He was going to discuss some adult matters with mother. Must be about finding a new town. Upstairs we were met with endless halls of doors. We can choose any room we want, just like home. I already chose mine, but Roci didn't want to leave my side. "Eh Roci, you have to find your own." I said. "s..scared." he whimpered. He held me by the side and covered his face. I let out a heavy sigh. I looked at my little brother's feeble demise. He is frightened of what the town did to father and I. Deep down, I was too. "Only one night Roci, you have to get used to sleeping alone-eh." after saying that he energetically nodded three times and quickly rushed inside with a smile on his face.

He fell a couple times climbing up the scarlet coated king-sized bed, so I helped his poor state. "Seriously brother, you have to be more careful. How are you going to become a strong Donquixote-eh." I lectured him. When we were both on the bed, Roci covered both of us in the sheets and was curious to know what happened in the town. Minutes later, I was jumping around enacting everything that occurred. Roci reacted to every scene with little oohs and aahs. "It's absurd Roci!" I explained as I fell down on the soft sheets. Roci followed suit. "Absurd!" he said with spright and rolled over the cotton sheets. I'm glad he's enjoying this.

He was now lying flat on his stomach and I on my back. The room grew quite for a couple of seconds, until Roci brought himself to ask a question. "Doffy, w..why they harm us. Did we d..do wrong?" he weakly stated. A frown formed on my face. Even I don't know that. The horrid faces those humans made still send shivers down my spine. I looked over him, he was intently waiting for my reply. Roci must be more scared than I am, asking these kinds of questions without knowing the answers to.

"Roci, we gods are always right. Humans are born to serve us- eh. That's what they always say back home. They must've thought we were someone else." I said in a comforting tone.

But I know the words those low-lives spat out of their mouths that time. "Celestial Dragons!" The possibility of humans hating us gods was unimaginable back home. Everything we do is right. We are sacred and to be revered. I don't understand why those abnormal humans have grudges against us. I thought everything they did was to serve us. I was deep in thought when I suddenly recalled the official that sent us here. Wait! He had that knowing grin. That bastard. Does he know?

I sprang up from the bed. Roci clumsily fell over from shock. "We have to go tell father!".

But, I suddenly paused from my spot when my eyes noticed something bright on the window. Small dots of red light in the distance where slowly approaching us. It was the townspeople carrying torches. They followed us home!

"Doffy! Roci!" I heard mother call from downstairs. "We have to leave now!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I always imagined Doffy and Roci having a loving brotherly relationship before any of the tragedy happened. Roci was the carefree sensitive brother while Doffy was the tough but protective brother. That is what I find beautiful about their relationship. The two are complete opposites yet they share the same story. It was a traumatizing experience for a young Doflamingo and Rocinante to witness the hatred of humanity and they witnessed it/ experienced it together.

Tune in on what Doffy's thoughts will linger on the next chapter!
